No, letting young people die young is not profitable, because you have invested in their education and they die without producing anything useful for that.
Why do you think safety belts in car are mandatory? To annoy people? No, because live citizen is worth much more than dead one...
Headphones are the motorcycles of the audio world. Sure the top end cars are faster/better but motorcycles are so much cheaper. Buying a $1500 pair of headphones is a lot more accessible than buying a well designed room with speakers.
ZeroTurnaround to the rescue. These are actually naps during deployments and when waiting for changes to propagate. Use JavaRebel and JSP Weaver to sleep during the night and work during the day. Only 9.99$ or more;)
I remember one system, with requirement, that EVERY password in system should be unique. Thats right, if you where trying to register and someone already used that password, you were given error message that this password is already used. And whats more, account of user that registered first with that password, was blocked for "security" reasons.

You see, trying to "protect" people (safety belts, helmets, crossing street at right place) its not for individual actually, its for society, because healthy individual is more valuable to society than injured or killed one. And it's "cheaper" to forbid something STUPID, than letting natural selection take care of stupid people.
I guess stupid people are easier to control, and so maybe they are more valuable.
This is called Tragedy of the commons. If every one would get what they want, we all would be screwed, because environment is our shared limited resource.
Another point of view. Censorship in action...Suppose a US citizen works for a firearms manufacturer in the US, making guns. One of those guns turns up here in Amsterdam and is used to commit a crime. This person takes a holiday over here in Europe, and is arrested for violating the Dutch firearms laws because he helped manufacture the gun in the US...
