Re:Stay classy DC fans
This thread started with claims of misogyny and fanboyism. Quite insulting and aggressive.
The claims of misogyny and fanboyism were based on evidence of posts by people trashing a movie they have not yet seen. If you follow the links further it tells the tale of one Star Wars actress who was forced off of social media due to racist/sexist remarks. If a cop pulls someone over for speeding due to evidence is he being insulting and aggressive or merely doing his job?
Nearly every thread in this topic has insults of incel or misogyny or SJW blah blah blah. I got to the end of reading most comments and decided to reply to this one because I can.
That's funny, most of the posts I see are shrilling proclaiming the terrors of the SJWs. Care to take a count? I guess I assumed the post you'd choose to reply to would be the one you'd find objectionable enough to argue against. *shrug*
Stunning and brave. Meatbag.
Brave? Seriously? I've talked shit on slashdot from time-to-time too (obviously) but I never once confused it for being brave.

Re:Stay classy DC fans
Starting earlier this week, a certain section of the internet -- for whatever reason -- decided to start filing fake negative reviews in an attempt to purposefully lower the film's Audience Rating.
The reason apparently is a toxic mixture of misogyny and fanboyism.
Shazam!'s Zachary Levi hits out at trolls attacking Captain Marvel and Brie Larson
Grow a brain, you arrogant shit.
if the movie were any good, people would go see it. "Woke" Ghostbusters was just a shitty remake that shoved SJW tenets down the audience's throat - and it shit all over a comedy classic to do it. And it bombed. You're just regurgitating the fantasies of the sheltered SJW echo chamber that can't understand why their shit doesn't sell. People are sick of getting "woke" shoved down their throats by strident virtue-signalling SJWs who immediately cry out "Sexism!" when a "woke" movie bombs.
Just like you did.
"Let's shit on the characters our audience grew up with - they're not woke enough for those ignorant racist, sexist rubes!" isn't good marketing. Period.
You think "woke" is based on reality? Well, call me when a human female-born-female actually plays in the NFL. That real enough for you? The NFL doesn't give a shit about who or what you are if you can play. Murderers, rapists, racists? Doesn't matter - if you're good enough, you'll play in the NFL.
And yet, outside a few kickers, no woman has even been able to play on low-level amateur college teams.

Re:Test case
Go to Youtube. Search Last Jedi
Don't fall for that. There is usually more meta-outrage on YouTube than there was actual outrage in the first place.
Kennedy and Johnson do not consider complaints as a gift (so few do these days)
But they are gifts.
We don't have to respond to criticisms by making demanded changes, indeed on my own projects, I often get diametrcically opposed demands, so someone gets left out. But I do thank each and every critic for their input. And if their input makes sense, I change it, and tell them I appreciate the good idea.
This does not fly with some people Way back in Rogue one days, when asked about the perceived political correctness of having another female lead in what was historically a male dominated series - apparently forgetting that the Princess Leia was a lead, Kennedy apparently took it badly:
"I have a responsibility to the company that I work with. I don’t feel that I have a responsibility to cater in some way. I would never just seize on saying, 'Well, this is a franchise that’s appealed primarily to men for many, many years, and therefore I owe men something.'"
Okay, well, her answer didn't really answer the question, but it does show her focus. source https://screenrant.com/star-wa...
Rian Johnson has apparently been "Expertly shutting down Fans" in this positive piece, which priases the rejection of the peopel who give you their money. http://www.digitalspy.com/movi... He also spent a fair amount of time mocking fans, and calling them manbabies.
The point is that Lucasfilm and Disney apparently do not need people to go to the movies any more. If I responded to my sponsors when they had a criticism telling them I do not need to cater to them or mocking them - I would go broke.
Disney and Kennedy et al, apparently do not need to profit, only to make films and throw shade at those who would dare to not march in lockstep with them
And none of the cites come from FaceBook.

It's the little details that trips people up
Reminds me whenPaul Ceglia sued Mark Zuckerberg saying Zuckerberg signed over 50% of Facebook to him.A detailed analysis of the emails showed that they had been fabricated due to small things like extra spaces in email headers that shouldn't be there and that the timestamps of the emails didn't correspond to Daily Savings time changes.

Re:... but not illegal in at least the US
just to clarify: what the judge was basically saying is that now even if you have a copy of a certain piece of music on CD with a barcode on the label*, you would still have to pay for a digital copy.
*which is really what this is about, PRS "inspectors" still don't generally give a fuck if you're playing back off a hard drive, as long as you can show paper barcodes as "proof" that you have a copy on CD they will generally accept that the digital copy is melodically identical - and if you're playing anything deemed of commercial value in a place where it can be heard by members of the public (even if it's a Top40 radio broadcast filtering through the white noise in the back of a shop), they will hit you for a £300 annual certificate which is pretty much nothing more than a permission slip to listen to Horlicks FM at work. Been there, showed the twat the KLF announcement that they had followed through their intention (at the Brits, of all events!) to delete their entire back catalogue just to spite Arista and deny them any more royalties (I was playing KLF) and he left red faced and ever so slightly embarrassed. No commission for him.

$25 million for two characters (one broKen)
Apple imposes a $50 million fine for leaks, GT Advanced reveals
Perhaps LG is now facing more of the same, for leaking two whole characters: "8K".
What I'm hoping is that LG pushes back, and when it goes to court LG successfully argues they didn't tip any technical parameters about a forthcoming Apple product, because "K" doesn't mean 1000, and "K" doesn't mean 1024, and in fact doesn't mean any number at all, contrary to what the Apple marketing people apparently think.

Episode 7's already been spoiled
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Gauntlet of Infinity. Kind of a risky decision to bring in the Marvel properties at this point, but we shall see what JJ Abrams can do.

Just a rumor
Gillan has stated that it is just a rumor and Smith has no intentions of leaving

Re:Time to add a little crazy into that character
It doesn't matter anyway. Slashdot was in such a hurry to get a headline people would react to, they didn't do their fact checking. He's not leaving:
