if you don't like it...
.. don't market and sell you music/films in france. or anywhere else where this is legal/legalish.. if it really makes a difference to the people who are "stealing" your music, they will stop doing it. unless of course, your stuff is sooo shit that nobody could care less if you made more of it. in that case, you're screwed.

Re:What is Google analytics?
Google's snazzy web site hit counter is adding new users
I would venture a guess that it's some kind of web site hit counter. But I'm not 100% on that..

Re:Anyone else here...
yes i have... it's a weird feeling hey? you wake up, and you're amazed at how good you feel, somehow thinking a hangover should lurking somewhere. then you move about a bit and realise you're still drunk.
i try to make something positive out of it, like drinking lots of water, maybe eating something, and then going back to sleep. alleviates the real hangover when it does show up later in the day..

Re:actually the problem is the scientists
Kinda got me thinking about Hwang Woo-suk, whose research would certainly have shook up a thing or two, and had some very large economic interests very annoyed.
Strange then that the part of his research that was fake wasn't even done by himself, but by people working for him, the same people now suing him for fraud... people who had previously been studying and working in the US, one of the countries most opposed to stem cell research...
Sounds a tad fishy to be quite honest. And no, I'm not a korean. And yes, I do have a tinfoil hat.

Re:In all seriousness, his biggest threat is...
Never mind professional time, I've been using linux (ubuntu) at home for less than a year. Recently I decided I wanted a webserver, I downloaded Apache, and had it up and running with PHP, MySQL, etc, within literally two-three hours. And with that basic set-up, I can basically do whatever I want, just scaling things up as I go along. Setting it up was, contrary to man-on-the-street belief, very very easy.
I think this is something we'll see more and more of, people like me, getting Ubuntu (or similar easy-to-use distro), using it alongside Windoze for a while, until one day realising they don't need Windows for anything anymore.
Now let's say I start working for a company, and they need servers etc.. what do you think I'll recommend? Spending $$$ for some MSFT guy to come and install stuff, or just letting me do it, on my normal wage, on an Apache server?
