Linux Top Gun
Naysayer's to the contrary, it's actually an interesting event.
I attended part of the last LTG at Mojo's Daily Grind. There were many, many people there participating and watching, and you have a lot of opportunity to meet new people. The actual "hacking" was slow, but there was music and a projector screen showing what was going on, if you could follow it. One of the better features was that after their attempts each team would have a Q and A session with the audience. I'm looking forward to attending the next one at the Alamo... -
Re:um...The last thing I need is Mr. "Noisy Typist" and Ms. "I Refuse to Mute My Laptop" sitting next to me.
Don't forget about their noise policy. -
I wonder...
if they setup the network because they're going to be showing Revolution OS.

Aint it cool news
Of course, this will help Harry Knowles get that first scoop review on his website as he is a known frequenter to the Drafthouse, though I wonder what Kevin Smith really feels about having Harry have wireless access at the movie theatre now.

Re:Wow!
I don't always agree with the reviews on AICN(I think Harry was involved a little too much with LOTR to give an honest review), but these guys have helped to bring some cool stuff to the Austin area along with the Alamo Drafthouse. And they're usually a very solid source of information.

Revolution: OS in Austin
The Alamo Drafthouse North in Austin, TX will be showing this movie for a couple weeks. While not a wonderful piece of filmmaking, it's an interested watch. Plus the Drafthouse has good sandwitches and cold beer (though you might be confused by the free speech, free beer thing because you had to pay for yours.)

MST3k LIve! Well, maybe not....
For those of you who live in or near Austin Texas, a local comedy group, Mr. Sinus Theater 3000, does live MSTk 3000 type of shows at the legendary Alamo Drafthouse. I reccomend the shows highly. They did Footloose, renacting the horrible Chicken-Tractor scene at halftime, using tricycles instead. I nearly passed out, but that could have been the beer.
To Quote the theme song: "We show movies live, not on TV, we show films with nudity..."

Re:Will it be shown in Austin?
Argh! Don't scare me like that! Hopefully it will be shown or I'm heading down to the Alamo Drafthouse to watch it.
