Re:Let's clarify something...
So at what point did it become the state's business? Why are they allowed to force the children to either go to a course (and before we forget, Some of these "programs" are naziesque and inhuman travesties of basic human decency), or have their lives destroyed by being placed on a sexual offender registry FOR TAKING PICTURES OF THEMSELVES?
The ALCU isn't evil, it's nanny state loving retards like you, who see no problem with giving someone the choice of "death or unconstitutional 'settlement' punishment", who are evil. People like you allow for the horrible programs referenced in my link, where an underage boy is sent to such a program, and is forced to wear a small mercury sensor on his penis, is forced to watch deviant pornography, and is electrocuted when he begins to get an erection.

Re:It's a battle and not the war..
This is fairly common.
This site documents the horrific things done in the name of "protecting the children" against "children who molest".
After being caught playing doctor, a pre-teen boy will be sentenced to a nightmarish "treatment", where they're forced in one part to repeat things like "I'm nothing but a disgusting filthy paedophile, I can never be trusted, because I'm a liar and I'll lie again", an in another part forced to strap a mercury sensor to his penis and forced to watch deviant pornography. If he begins to get an erection, he'll recieve an electric shock, or be forced to sniff ammonia.
We hate our children. Raping is too good for our children, so we've got to come up with the most mind-numbingly Nazi-esque methods to hurt them we possibly can, and we've got to treat them as non-humans in the courts so these horrible things remain legal while they'd be illegal in the case of an adult sexual predator.

Re:naturally...
Since when have politicians actually cared about children? Let me remind you we spent 5 trillion dollars of their money over the past 8 years, and we're looking at spending trillions more.
Plus, now instead of schools dealing with kids, they just call in the police every time there's anything even remotely out of their field going on. PLUS, when kids are charged of crimes, they have a de facto separate legal system with much lower standards of rights or scrutiny, so we get thing children being sent to naziesque reprogramming camps where children are exposed to discredited techniques to 'cure' homosexuals developed in the 30s
We fucking hate our children. We want them to suffer. We feel entitled to their unearned money. We feel entitled to fuck with their freedom and rape their minds.
They're a great excuse to pass legislation, but we truly hate them and want them to suffer.

Re:Students Not Second-Class Citizens
Second link failed (oops?), it was to This site, which details the desexualization process.
Very orwellian. You love big brother, right? -
Re:Human Rights Watch: Abuse of Psychiatry in Chin
If you want to read something scary, read through this site.
The same thing is happening right here at home. The subject matter is different, but process is the same.
It gives me nightmares knowing that this could happen to my son or daughter.

Re:Think of the children!
Actually, the reality of the situation is that if the police caught those 6 year olds, they COULD be charged, and most likely WOULD. They'd then be sent to perverse brainwashing camps that are designed to first convince them that they are sexual predators, then destroy their self-esteem and tell them that they can never be trusted, that they're worthless human beings, that they're irredeemable.
This is part of a moral panic in America about 'Children who molest'. Every time I think about what Americans are doing to innocent children, I get very mad.
I urge every slashdotter who reads this to go out and learn more about this phenomenon. Ethical Treatment for All Youth documents what's happening to kids across America right now in situations like this, and the devastating consequences. -
Here's the original submission...
Ohio Creates 'Pre-Crime' Sex Offender Registry
In a scene right out of Spielberg's vision of Philip K. Dick's classic short story the state of Ohio has established a pre-crime registry for sex offenders--even if they've never been charged with a crime!
"The person's name, address, and photograph would be placed on a new Internet database and the person would be subjected to the same registration and community notification requirements and restrictions on where he could live."
I can't wait to see how this is going to affect the current trend that has divorcing women making false accusations against their husbands during the custody phase of proceedings! Then there's the way this (being that it is a civil matter) can be expanded to encompass so many other things...
Could this new registry be away for the homophobic to reverse the trends towards civil rights homosexuals have achieved in recent years? What about the affect this can have on children engaged in normal sex play for their ages? I'm reminded of Ryan Zylstra, Leah DuBuc, Laura M. Wilcox, Genarlow Wilson and other teenagers and children who have had their lives ruined by this type of hysteria and the lack of due process that comes with it. And who can forget the vigilantes who murder people they find on these lists? People like William Elliott, who was placed on the registry at age nineteen for having sex with his two weeks shy of sixteen year old girlfriend and thanks to the registry murdered.
Now they want a civil registry they can place people on without the benefit of a conviction or a jury trial? Next thing you know they'll be pushing for a pink triangle on your ID! Oh wait... Well just remember that when you give up your rights one by one, you're doing it for the children....
I'm posting the original submission because I believe anyone who follows the links here will see quite clearly how bad this is even beyond the usual Constitutional violations. This is a law that will harm the very same people it purports to protect!
