Re:Bye, bye.
Currently I get mu news from multiple sources, normally at least 10 with emails from 3, add to that ugh stumbleupon and even this site http://www.newspapers24.com/ (12,000 sources). So what they envisaging subscriptions to all of them, oh yeah, like that's going to happen. There is absolutely zero chance that I will pay for any news subscription, specifically because I do not and will not be tied down to one or two corporate for extreme profit, advertising as news site.
Hate to burst Rupert's bubble but typical mass media sites have very low reliability when it comes to the truth, and Murdoch's news sites represent some of the biggest most disingenuous and fraudulent liars, who not only distort the news but they also fabricate and hide the news.
What Rupert Murdoch is really saying is that his lawyers will be going on the offensive, so watch those links, content extracts and even quotes from Fox sites, they even want to be able to charge access to their B$ commentators.
Interestingly enough my two favourite news sites are http://www.bbc.co.uk/ and http://www.abc.net.au/, so bwah hah hah hah (they both have already been paid for). As for Fox news http://www.fauxnewschannel.com/ is the only version I bother with and, I even rate M$'s MSN sites and their associated sites, way, way ahead of anything associated with - not really - "News Corp" (the corporate equivalent of the Soviet version of Pravda).

It's the right's ally and the left's Faux
Faux News is the foe of the left.

Re:Spelling Error...
Faux News? No one has ever thought of that! Oh wait...google returns 418,000 hits. And there's a fauxnewschannel.com. Make fun of Fox News if you want, but at least come with some new material.

Like America doesn't do the same?
put bugs (listening devices) in the walls of the governmental buildings around the country
You mean like the US planted bugs in the new Chinese presidential airplane?
but when it comes to national security
It's a computer chip. Plug it in, it crunches numbers.
What would stop them from putting data-wrangling code into the Opteron chips?
Because the numbers that it crunches would be wrong. Remember Intel's bugs? People find them. Besides, computational experiments are built with a certain redundancy and lots of checks.
It's a non-issue and you're being paranoid. Been watching a little too much Faux News recently? -
Re:does it matter?
hysterical liberal mass media
Yes. Very liberal. Watched any Fox News recently? Will you STFU about a "Liberal Media" - you either have your head up your ass, or you don't know the definition of "Liberal".
Someone who is "Liberal" believes the rights of other people are important. Rights, tollerance, everyone lives happily ever after. It's a very "you you you" policy. Guns don't really fit into the equation, because someone "Liberal" would have no need for one, and by extension can't see why you would either (although they're slightly torn because they can understand people want toys and this view varies a lot from liberal to liberal [but they're generally less understanding of those who collect the silly things] - just like the ACLU is completely neutral on gun policy).
Someone who is "Right-Wing" believes in removing rights from others, but claiming rights their own through force if necessary. It's a very "me me me, but fark you" mindset. Guns fit into it very nicely. However, there's something of an odd contradiction here - the power grab thing shares factors with the thinking of communist governments. Especially with our current right-wing government stripping civil rights from the body politic (so long as they can still take month-long vacations). As Chairman Mao (y'know, head of communist china) famously said: "Power comes out of the barrel of a gun".
Anyway - to my point. It is entirely likely that this guy was A BAD PARENT. That's right - his kid was a tearaway. Coupled with his unfortunate choice of hobbies - hillarity ensues. Take your pick of solutions:
Solution1: Don't be a BAD PARENT.
Solution2: BAD PARENTS should not HAVE KIDS.
Solution3: BAD PARENTS should not OWN GUNS.
Solution4: Don't OWN GUNS. -
More room for more NewsI would expect FOX NEWS to be buying up lots of media outlets. To paraphrase The Underpants Gnomes;
Step One: Build a Media Empire.
Step Two: Buy out the US Government
Step Three: ????

Re:Russians
It's a conspiracy! No, wait! It's our old friend Adnan Khashoggi! Friend, there is a big difference from people working for Reagan's old buddy Adnan and people ordered there by Putie-poo Vladmir. Big difference. God Bless the Republican Propaganda Ministry!
