    To put it this way, can you imagine writing something like GIMP, Abiword, Entourage or Firefox in Flash?

    And this, his latest blog entry as of Nov. 15. "I'm an investor in a company called Goowy Media. Its based in San Diego and is run by a bunch of smart guys who decided they were tired of everything on the net being built around HTML. So they decided to take Flash and turn it into a desktop environment. Their first product was Goowy.com . This past week they made a huge step forward when they introduced Yourminis.com/a . I'm sure you can figure it out. What a jerk.

    I've checked YouOS.com. I won't call it a OS now. It's just a bundle of applications. I'll call it a OS when I just log in to it from my computer or any such device without a installed operating system (such as Win, Lin etc.). Check a similar so called online OS is http://www.goowy.com/.

    YouOS has been around for a while, and it's part of a growing trend of online desktops (I refuse to refer to them as "Online OSes", because they're simply a desktop page that launches programs, an alternative to Explorer at best).

    Goowy mail is pretty good. You don't have to beg for an invitation, it offers both a really cool Flash version and a stripped down version for low bandwidth connections (You select which one you want at log on). It doesn't have ads (yet) and it even has news and games if you care to click on their icons. It's a credible effort.
