Am I the only one that thinks this Magical Quest borrows more than a little from Cotton?

Looks. It's Part Of Gaming.Though it's great to see home brew games are alive and kicking, and that the GP32 has a cult following because of it's open nature, I must say that all of the games not mentioned in the article look mediocre to terrible.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm one who'll prefer shining gameplay over shiney graphics, but most of the displayed games look like the developer haven't even tried.
Take this one for instance. In case you don't recognise what that's supposed to represent, it's a snowboard going down a mountain. This console is capable of much better.

Not yet! Backlit version coming in a week!!!"Also, Entware let me know that backlighted GP32 will be available on the 10th of april, and he confirmed me that JoyGP, the international MeGaGp will be opened during the second half of april." Link
While I can't speak for the reliability of the source, Entware seems to be the supplier of a gp32 DivX player. Interesting...

Re:No Competition
The GP32 can't even been seen as an issue due to its pure lack of power. While it has a higher MHZ rating it doesn't have any special hardware to deal with sprite effects, background effects and more...
With a much more powerful processor and 8MB of RAM, GP32 can emulate GBA's hardware effects in software. I've owned a GP32 for about half a year, and a GBA since launch date. Many GP32 games meet and exceed GBA graphics, such as Astonishia Story R.
Plus, a GBA emulator for GP32 is in the works. TONS of other systems, including NES, GameGear/Sega Master System, and SNES are already emulated well on GP32. Despite all this, however, the one thing really keeping GP32 back from direct competition is Nintendo's stranglehold on the handheld industry and the Game Boy's huge library of games.
