Re:So, time to scrap TSA/airport security checks
Yes, we have the example of Flight 93 but I think that's an exception to the rule

Re:Not your problem
I'd suggest that the families of the 43 people who died in blasts in a Turkish border town today probably consider it a problem. http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/death-toll-rises-to-43-as-explosions-hit-turkish-town-on-border-with-syria.aspx?pageID=238&nID=46682&NewsCatID=341

Re:Arab Spring
For example Turkey has been a staunch ally since the Truman Doctrine and has the highest Democracy Index in the region excluding Israel.
That was a joke , right? Israel and Turkey? Democracy?

The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÃoeBÄTAK) has strongly denied reports that it has stopped printing books on evolution, saying the claims were âoeblack propagandaâ against their institution.

Re:Like all the slander against Israel and the US
You really are a closed-minded wanker aren't you? I will provide references showing that although your view is true for the last century, over the last two decades there has been a massive regression in many areas. I will provide citations
There are been great progress in the West. This is probably where you are making your statements about, yeah? However, you are completely *ignorant* (or chose to ignore) several facts: 1) anti-Semitism is increasing in the West (correlated strongly with massive immigration from OIC countries), 2) honor-crime and rape are increasing in countries where formerly it was never heard of (eg. Scandinavia, and again strongly and geographically correlated with OIC immigration), 3) the amount of terrorism has increased massively in the last decade, most of it is Muslim-on-Muslim (so if one is not paying attention, like you, then it is easy to miss: ), 4) the United Nations is OIC dominated and they are actively working to inhibit Free Speech across the globe, eg. see UN HRC Resolution 16/18 (where Hilliary Clinton very stupidly agreed to punish US First Amendment Free Speech rights against her own citizens in her own country - completely craven, shameful and anti-Constitutional).
In the last two decades Human Rights have been going backward for the 1.3 billion people in OIC countries (that's a lot of people). Example analyses: http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/07/the_lamps_are_going_out_all_over_the_islamic_world.html
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/study-finds-worsening-conditions-for-democracy-and-human-rights-in-central-asia.aspx?pageID=438&n=study-finds-worsening-conditions-for-democracy-and-human-rights-in-central-asia-2002-08-20
Sudan going backwards: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3130234.stm
Consider the cases of the following countries: Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Indonesia, Chechnya/Dagestan. Have human rights and tolerance gone forward in these countries with the dismantling of secular, socialist or moderate regimes and replaced with increasingly Islamist or repressive ones? Even in Britain, Canada and the US there is regression with an increasing rate of 'dishonor killings' that were unheard of a few years back (and the killing of any number innocent girls by their families for trying to life a liberal Western lifestyle is completely unacceptable, yes? or are you a fascist too?). There are now also places (eg. in France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden) were non-Muslims and even the police fear to go. Even Russia has experienced significant regressing with respect to human and civil rights. And as I mentioned, "useful idiot" Hilliary Clinton has just made the US agreed to UN Resolution 16/18 to suppress the Free Speech rights that US citizens have had for several centuries. These regressions are significant. It is not all doom and gloom. The World just might be sorted out eventually (although there is also a good chance it won't be), but to say it is all forward progress is delusional and contrary to the facts if you look outside the Western/Free World. For a substantial chunk of the World's population there may have been material growth has been noticeable regression in human and civil rights.
So get out of your cozy neighborhood and start looking at the entire globe. For the last decade or so there has been significant regression for a large chunk of the World's population. It is indeed "it is incredible how backward the world has become". Oh yeah, if you are going to be a moron through ignorance, at least try not to be such a jerk about it. k?

Re:But that's not the real problem.
Where I'm from (Pittsburgh, PA), many bicyclists don't use hand signals or stop at red lights - They buzz right through.
While I can't comment on the stupidity of failing to stop at red lights, I have to offer a possible explanation for the lack of hand signals. Two words:
- Fear
- Ignorance
I'm afraid to even attempt to use hand signals because of the possibility of being confused with using gang signs and I say this as someone whose hard of hearing and uses (pidgin) ASL to communicate with Deaf friends. Even with ASL I'm nervous about using them in public, there have been too many stories of people being attacked or confused for being a gang banger over use of hand signs.
Ignorance also plays a factor. How many motorists would recognize bike hand signals if they saw them? How many would only see a hand movement and decide they were being flipped off by rude bikers?
What good does it do to use signals that are unknown and likely to get you killed if misinterpreted? -

This isn't about self-defence
Self-defence courses are entirely legal in the UK. What this man is advocating is a form of self-defence that involves disproportionate, extreme violence. Under British law, defence has to be proportionate to the threat - you can kill a person who is attempting to kill you, but you don't have the right to kill a person who only slaps you. The British police have warned that these "self-defence" courses are teaching non-legal self-defence, and that the people who use these methods will be prosecuted and likely land up in jail.
Would the U.S. authorities actually allow a "celebrity" foreigner who advocates and teaches illegal violence to enter the country? It seems U.S. authorities routinely reject people for much lesser reasons, like a Twitter post, being friends with some bikers, minor drugs use etc. Heck, until Obama overturned it, even HIV sufferers couldn't enter the U.S.

Too Much at Once?
The patient has passed away according to reports.
Was it too much to take on at once? I'm not referring to four limbs on one patient, I'm referring to four limbs on one patient PLUS a face transplant the same day by the same team.
"Meanwhile, the face transplant patient, who was operated on by the same team of surgeons on the same day, was reported to be in good condition. "

Re:Need To Start Banning
Local Courts, apparently. Or better yet, how about just banning local dumbshit judges that are still stuck in 1947 or whatever the hell yesteryear they graduated from law school in?
The broadcast rights to Spor Toto Super League matches are worth $321 million dollars. Blogger becomes latest victim of Turkish Internet bans
This in a country with a population of 74.8 million - -- and it may help to explain why a Turkish court sends an early morning wake-up call to Google.
The Turkish system is very different from the U.S.
There are no juries, only judges and panels of judges.
There is no intermediate appelate system.
Which means that the decisions of your "dumbshit" local judge carry very real weight.
Your judge will have four years of law school under his belt, two years of judicial internship and will have been no older than 35 if he held a masters or doctorate degree when he passed his entrance exam.
No older than 30 if he entered the system straight out of law school.
Allow me to suggest that playing the age card is not the brightest idea you ever had.

The location is...The location is probably Google Maps: Vodaphone Ikitelli Istanbul Turkey. A news report says the Ikitelli district was flooded and Vodaphone was affected. Similarly, in Google Earth searching for "Vodaphone Turkey Ikitelli" takes you to that location, next to the 34-25 highway...with the right options turned on you'll see an "i" icon labeled Vodaphone.
Move the cursor around the highway's region and watch the altitude info in Google Earth and you'll see the highway is a low point. The flood followed the highway. The highway goes past an area 1.5 miles northeast where three 100-foot-deep ravines join into one, feeding a lake which usually has one small outlet that flows toward the highway. This five-foot-wide creek vanishes into a culvert under the highway. The highway was built over the stream which drains the region.
What you see outside the building is not rising backwater. You're seeing the river flowing through their parking lot.
