Re:Dropbox
get the justin.tv app for your android phone -- an iphone version is coming soon. it records your video on their servers -- basically it's cloud video. even if the cops take your device you can give the press your justin.tv channel name and rebroadcast the police wrongdoing all you want.

Re:Ahhh crime.
Yes, there are lots of apps. Justin.Tv for example.
That will let you stream video live, as well as save it to be watched later (or even upload to youtube).

Predator to DMX? Any Ideas?
I work at a karaoke bar. http://www.justin.tv/7bamboo I'd really like to use this to track singers as they move around the room, or have spotlights follow.

Re:Cheaper and better than cable
If it wasn't for sports, I'd consider canceling cable/sattelite and just watching content via the internet.

If it really works, people hate it.
The story of Adam's Block is instructive. Someone set up two good high-resolution cameras looking out at a high-crime area in San Francisco's Tenderloin, and put them on the Web. Viewers could comment in real time, and log interesting events for later interest.
The drug dealers were angry. There were death threats. The camera owner finally had to take the cameras down and move.

Re:Launch delayed, WolframAlpha hits a "snag"
Currently (a not very smoothly working) video stream with the WolframAlpha team is live at:

The site itself is not up yet, there's a word they may need until Monday to "build up computing capacity". -
Justin.TV
Try Justin.TV Sports. That's how many expats get sports from their home countries while away. It's also a great resource for getting sports (and other programming) not generally available in your own country.
This works on Macs (Intel and Power). I thought it worked on Linux with the latest Flash plugin, but I've had one Linux user tell me that it didn't. (Then again, I don't know what version of Flash he was using.) Please give it a try and report back what happens on Linux. I'd like to know for sure myself.

Re:Not a religion at all
It's not anything like a religion. Many people seem to be unable, much like you, to see that you _need_ privacy to live a happy life.
What do I need privacy for? This guy is broadcasting his live 24/7, he doesn't seem unhappy at all. So what is this privacy good for?
When it comes to an oppressive state and unjust laws privacy of course helps you to hide from the state, but what if the laws are fine and there is no need to hide, why should I care about privacy? What would be the consequences?
The only good argument I have heard for privacy is that it gives to much power into the hands of those that have the information, which is a valid concern, it however doesn't mean that privacy is a holly cow, just that when you give up on it, you should start with those in power first, not random Joe on the street. It also means that the information should be available to everybody, not just one group having all the info and another not having anything, spread it to every person and it will get much harder to abuse.
