    I notice that the law firm's address and phone numbers are marked out as "[private]" on the DMCA complaint.

    Odd, when they make it public information on their website (whose URL isn't blocked out in the PDF file) and they don't have any other branches:

    They should also check with the folks at Kazaa Lite, the Kazaa version without all those ads. Including this version they've probably already passed ICQ. Unless of course they already accounted for the lite version.

    The guys that run this site may hate me for it, but here's a location to grab a HOSTS file update that removes access to all sorts of sites (mostly ads, but also spyware). What I have set up on my machine is a little apache server that serves up a random quote instead of an ad from whatever server. Shoot a note if you have a question (or reply here).

    KazaaLite offers a supertrick host file full of ad servers that you can merge with your existing host file. You could also take this data and merge it with Mozilla's blocking option.

    I can find a CD I want on Amazon, download all the tracks from Kazaa-Lite, and then donate money straight to the artist via MusicLink. The only time I buy a CD is for present-giving or when I receive a Borders gift voucher. The RIAA could take a look at their main product CDs and not focus so much on piracy or P2P as 'Bad' - because they are 'Good' when compared to the inconveniences of the CD. Records are an antiquated concept except to DJs. Now CDs are on the chopping block with their commercial counterparts.
