Re:Do we have enough...?
I remember hearing that Maxim has included fully computer-generated women before, and nobody noticed.
Look as I might, I could only find stuff on Aki Ross... http://www.killermovies.com/f/finalfantasythespiritswithin/articles/1370.html

Re:So confused...
From what I've heard over the last decade, I guess it could be My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas, eXcept 1 Sausage.
After all, after the first nine, there's Xena, Setna, and the not-prominently-named 1996TL66, all of which have been the "10th planet" in major news media.
I have to wonder what the next 10th planet will be called... -

Get with it - or get shut out...
What TV probably cannot stand is the fact that people will now filter away all inferior quality products that this medium keeps sending out (including commercials - and bad gameshows). It's just those products that will *not* get pirated - and it's just those products that tend to form the majority of television today.
People downloading television shows (or series) want the creme-de-la-creme of television - and they want it all: 24, ER, CSI etc.
Instead of keeping these television series off DVD to make sure the (international!) re-broadcasting rights are safe, television-producers should choose to publish the stuff on DVD almost simultaneously as they do on television. Waiting almost 4 years (ER) for the DVD is way too long - and will promote this kind of behaviour even more.
As for the choice between DVD and pirated series: I would choose DVD - it's all-in-one, has the same standard of quality and it contains useful commentaries and background information.
But please, if you do publish a DVD, don't be a cheap-*** and skip the music because the rights cost too much - either give it all or keep it all... -
Explored fully, the Galaxy has not.
Honestly, there is a good bit of life in the Star Wars Galaxy. Take a notice of the Jedi and Sith Wars in the Knights of the Old Republic or the rumored Spielberg Star Wars Miniseries.
The "Rise of Vader" done in HDTV format would be impressive due to Speilberg getting his directing/producing chops in made for TV movies and a wealth of experiance.
With the animation studio ready and there is plenty of Star Wars lore to be explored. The difference between the Lucas Empire and Viacom is that LucasFilm/Arts/IML/Skywalker Sound/Lucasfilm Animation is all in house and focused on Star Wars while Star Trek is nothing more than a former Desilu Production under the Viacom Empire.

For those of you reading these comments
... who aren't Slashdot members, I think one of us should at least describe the "pun", so to speak, that Microsoft is employing here. Face it -- some people haven't actually seen The Matrix films, believe it or not!
As this release would be the second major release of the XP baseline, it's appropriately named after a popular science fiction film by Andy and Larry Wachowski (yes, they're related) in which a man and his rebel friends have three days until 250,000 probes discover a place called Zion and destroy it and its inhabitants. The main character is Neo, played by Keanu Reeves. You can find out more about the film at this site.
One interesting question is whether Warner Brothers will look for $$$ from Microsoft since MS is kind of riding the wave created by the WB-sponsored film through marketing and clever research aimed at science fiction enthusiasts and horror/dark fiction lovers and social deviants (the film's in a dark green tint and features many violent anti-societal scenes). -

SETI is pointless...
Hasn't anyone read The Forge of God ?
Cautious civilizations don't broadcast out of fear of attracting attention. If we do hear something, it will from a species wiped out by the Killers long, long ago.

Re:Title? How about...
You think Harrison Ford is old. Well how about Pierce Brosnan. He is 50 years old and has plans to do at least one more James Bond movie. Maybe even 2 or 3. After that there are two other Bond movies in the works that he might star in. I even heard that Brosnan was too old to star in Goldeneye.
Haven't you ever noticed most movie stars in Hollywood are in their 50's? Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert DeNiro, and Sean Connery just to name a few.
Look here
Harrison Ford was picked as the most popular movie star the last couple years. All of these actors are probably working on new movies so it's nothing out of the ordinary for someone this old to be in a film.
