Doesn't even have the most popular OS?
I can't believe he'd go through all this trouble, and fail to install the most popular Operating System in the world.

Who Will Build Our Digital Future?
Developing countries recognize that their economic progress depends on their mastery of information technologies. Open-source software, with its global, free-wheeling, "stone soup" development approach, allows these countries to potentially shave 10 to 15 years off the time it would take them to nurture their own IT sectors at home.

Re:I hate being the bearer of bad news...Good points, but the game is changing fast. Five years ago, markets outside North America (except for Europe) were considered irrelevant in the industry. Not anymore. Check out this interesting story . Or let me summarize the important points:
- The Thai Government's cheap Linux computer program is a smashing success.
- A local (Linux only) PC vendor has just passed HP to become the largest vendor in the country.
- Gartner says that only 40% of new computers sold in Thailand this year had Windows installed.
Thailand is not an exception, its just a few years ahead of other countries. Remember in Jurassic Park when the glass of water started shaking ominously? Thailand and Israel are the first two ripples. -
Does this mean anything in the long-term?-Targets.
As I posted before, a relevant link. Now let's see if anyone reads it, and moderates accordingly.

Mandrake 9.2Just install Mandrake 9.2
A CEO which tells its audience RedHat Linux or Fedora is not viable for the PC desktop should be fired in a splitsecond. The fact he's still there is even worse.
Oh sure, Skulicz has to tell some nice things to his investors. The thing that scares me the most is that apparently a large chunk from RedHat's Investors Cash must be coming from people who want Windows on the desktop PC's. I really wonder who these investors might be.
The only conclusion i can come up with, after reading this : Microsoft Loses to Linux in Thailand Struggle is that certain people want to prevent at all costs that a normal priced Linux Desktop Distro, of decent quality, hits the stores for say $50,= to $90,= , which includes the current KillerApp for Linux : OpenOffice 1.1

Re:That's a goal?

Valve Systems called and said that they want 1999 to return their fucking source code. -
Re:With any luck...
And before anyone makes some noise about "their execs are dumping their stock holdings now" remember
If my memory differs, can I make noise anyway? ;-)
that the one exec who has been selling his stock
Yahoo lists sales from their Senior Executive Vice President Reginald Charles Broughton, their Chief Financial Officer Robert K. Bench, their Vice President Jeff Hunsaker, their Senior Vice President Michael Sean Wilson, and their Controller/Vice President Michael Olson. Last I checked the total sales were up over $2.5 million dollars, and I've been told that the only reason Darl isn't getting in on the action yet is that his contract doesn't give him his stock options until they've had four quarters of payola (er... profit) from Microsoft and Sun.
had filed a plan with the SEC back in January to do so.
And as long as they then suddenly realized that they should trump up a multibillion dollar lawsuit and have it ready to make public less than two months later, that's fine. According to analyst Laura Didio, on the other hand, SCO was deciding what to do about "blatant SGI violations" more than a year ago, in which case the fact that several of their execs filed to sell most of their stock shortly afterward seems a lot less coincidental.
