Re:Is anyone surprised by this?
What exactly is Lyft going to sue them for? Breach of rider contract/TOS? How is that going to be massive?

Now there is some stuff in there that Uber definitely/probably violated (eg 9a, 9l). I'm not really seeing how they are directly affecting Lyft's bottom line. They see how the cars and drivers react, most likely comparing that to their own driver behavior, but that's something that I'd expect Uber to be researching anyway. Google most certainly is figuring out how people use Bing and other search engines or how people use Apple maps vs Google maps. -
Just ditch Uber already
Use Lyft, it's better for the driver and better for the passenger.
If all the drivers who complain about Uber would just go to Lyft, the passengers will follow. Same for passengers.

Finally!
Finally, a major company is planning to compete with Uber in the ride-sharing service space.
I guess Lyft doesn't count?

Thank you, government, for saving us from Uber
both France and Germany continue to reject the company's validity in their regions
This is such a great news for all the little Statists out there: a multi-billion corporation (spit!) loses to the government officials seeking to retain control of transportation — as well as the massive fees collected from and the influence over those already "in" the system.
Meanwhile, a Boston Uber driver filed a federal lawsuit
Is not it great, when a poor little Joe Shmoe can file a federal lawsuit against such a multi-billion dollar corporation on his own? Is this news not the right answer to the folks lamenting needing millions of dollars to legally fight such an opponent?
illegally classifying drivers as independent contractors to avoid providing full employee benefits
That a distinction even exists — allowing the enforcers from the Executive branch to make life hell for business-owners without even bothering with the Judiciary — is itself a major achievement for the Statism.
Of course, they only begin to complain about "overly strong government", when the wrong guy is about to take the reins. When it is their man, they wish he was a dictator — to do "more good quicker".
just "how sleazy" Uber really is.
There is that... Shortly after Uber hired David Plouffe (the guy instrumental to putting Obama into office), I started getting spam from the company. E-mails asking me, whether I know, how "Uber helps minority drivers" or "how Uber helps the environment". That really was as sleazy a Democratic campaigns get, but the above-mentioned Statists usually lap this sort of thing up — even if the spam campaign misfired in my case and I know begin searching for a ride with Lyft.

Re:Yes, but can it launch Waze
Because if you actually read what GP wrote you might notice that "waze" (which is not a dictionary word) sounds identical to "ways" (which is a dictionary word).
What if I want to launch waze or lyft? Those aren't dictionary words either, but they live on my smartphone along side Siri/Cortana/Hound etc.

Re:MPAA all over again
Wait, so you'd trust your daughter in a taxi, but not an uber? Tell me how a taxi medallion makes a taxi driver a better driver than someone with a regular license? Uber and Lyft drivers are background checked, so no worries about getting a felon. Also, if your daughter was an hour late getting home, do you think you could call up yellow cab and they'd be able to tell you where she is? Uber tracks both the driver's phone GPS, and the passenger's phone GPS. There'd be little trouble in finding out where they are.
And for your idea about hailing a cab already in route to a similar destination, Lyft already has that https://www.lyft.com/line
Its pretty obvious you've never tried these services -

And here are the details of Lyft's insurance policy
