"Unfortunately however, while the new launch system was effective with the standard fireworks shells that shoot straight up, it left a great deal to be desired from an artistic standpoint with some of the more unique effects. When Believe returned for the Easter Vacation period after its long winter's absence, several of the key effects that defined the Believe show simply weren't able to be accomplished with the new launch system. Most noticeably, the shooting star effect used several times during the show almost ceased to exist. Instead of the graceful arc of a shooting star sailing over the Castle that the Believe designers created, the air launch tubes could only manage an effect that was more like an errant fireworks shell fizzling towards Tomorrowland. The show's original producer Steve Davison, and the artistic professionals of the Disneyland Entertainment Department, were not at all amused at what the new environmentally friendly launch system had done with their show."

For some real healthy anti-Eisner articles written from the points of view of ex-Disney employees (Cast Members), I'll point you at MiceAge, a site that seems to be doing a good job bringing the park perspective to the forefront... seems to be a lot of behind the scenes politics, the comings and goings of executives, as well as how facilities is being (mis-)handled...

I am one of the biggest Disney weenies in the world. I've had an AP since I was 15, and I long for a return to the old days of Disneyland. I would love to see a full-on 3D recreation of Disneyland in various eras, that could be "walked thru."

Two sites that I frequent are Yesterland.com, which features pictures, descriptions and memories of the almost every "retired" Disneyland attraction, and MiceAge.com, which features backstage "exposes" about Disneyland and the people who run it.

Here's a another informative page on My Pal Mickey, discussing a little bit on the tech, and possible future upgrades for the doll (i.e., a built-in digicam, acting as an electronic "FastPass").

A friend of mine who works over in DW told me about this a couple months ago. Seems like it's a steal for $50, if not just for the amount of tech in it. And with the right amount of hackability, I would have a ball with this at home:
