Re:WTF, dude ?
How is a mildewed mailbox going to reduce property values? What bank will value a home less because of a mailbox with mildew? In what plausable scenaario will a person attempting to purchase a house say, "I would like to buy your house for 1,500,000$, but because your mailbox is mildewed, it is only worth 1,490,000? Seriously, in what world does this occur?
None. It's a HOA pulling stuff out of their bottom to justify an autocratic rule. That's why they get sued for stuff like this:

Don't worry - this is just
/. making sure the facts don't get in the way of a good scare story.
The actual law in Japan requires a waistline above the specified figures and a weight related ailment. See link and link
If someone is fighting fit and as a result has built body mass causing a larger waist, they're still not going to see any penalty unless they develop a weight related condition of some sort. -
Re:it's not like people don't play dirty
I have to say that I'm surprised by the view many hold that he is not doing well. I'm not predicting that he will surely get the nomination, but he surely isn't doing poorly, either; and it is very possible that he could be nominated.

Ron Paul First Place in West Virginia Delegates
"WV is 50th in fundraising for Ron Paul, no paid staff at all, and we are beating 3 campaigns that worked the establishment and had paid state and county coordinators. This is entirely grassroots."

Are people still holding the view that he is doing poorly after being made aware of the above? It's hardly the end of the list. I'd say he is doing quite well when taking everything into consideration. Let's not forget that he has plenty of room to grow.
Ron Paul placing in the top three in Iowa and first place in New Hampshire doesn't seem bad at all. -
Suck it, Woz.

Death of the first amendment.
You have to remember this -- there is no guarantee of free speech from any corporation. The US Constitution guarantees that "government" shall not infringe the right to a citizen's free speech. Any time you have a non-governmental agency "it doesn't apply".
Yeah, just like the constitution doesn't guarantee you the right to habeas corpus, it just forbids the government from taking it away. We certainly have come a long way from Voltaire and "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
You claim the US government protects freedom of speech, yet it's really amazing how many different ways the government has evolved to suppress free speech. Free speech zones, copyright law, decency standards, muzzling scientists who believe in global warming, muzzling scientists who don't believe in global warming, the terrorism witch hunt, the child porn witch hunt, and the list continues...
Actually that last one was even better than censorship. It was thought crime. The man sent to prison for writing a fictional story never distributed or even intended to distribute that story. He was sent to prison for the crime of thinking bad thoughts.
My reaction to this story? Well I guess you've figured it out by now... I don't like censorship. I'm ok with Amazon distributing books. I'm not quite sure why Theodp@aol.com is so afraid of books. A book can't hurt you. And, um Google, I know it's cliche and all, but you're letting the terrorists win.

Re:Perspective of a Muslim
People are dumped via text message in America, too. Nice try, making it seem like the 1.5 Billion Muslims all do it, and your link to an extremist website doesn't do you any wonders.

Re:American Diplomacy = John Bolton Sensitivity
You may very well be correct about John Bolton and Bush's view of the UN. I don't know.
However, I take great offense to your view of conservative talk radio. The only "hateful" person on talk radio that I know of is Michael Savage, he is rather irrational and inconsistent in his expressed views. Dissent != Hate.
I like you you convinently do not at all mention Air America radio and their recent controversy. If you do not call what they did hateful, then you are just being and ideologue. Similarlly, if you do not call the propaganda and crafefully crafted out-of-context ramblings of Michael Moore not to be hateful, then all its the same.
