Another article, wonder if they might be related?
There is another article
... Time-twisting test stuck in limbo that I read about, and I was wondering if the articles might be related - or the experiment might be related to this article and they didn't know about the relationship? -
Not all the info
TFA only tells half the story. MSNBC has more. Dragon is fine, but it's possible that the launch's secondary objective, which was to put the first of an 18-satellite telecom array into a tricky high-inclination orbit, went a little screwy as well, and the sat isn't in the proper orbit at the moment. Details are still being dug out.

Re:Pussy Riot, is that you?
Yes, some people will deny reality if if reflects badly on Obama, even after the truth is known and the administration is backpeddeling:
Slowly the intelligence community is coming around to admit that they were caught completely flat footed, and admitting what the Libyan President Mohammed Magarief said is really the truth.
In an exclusive interview with NBC News' Ann Curry, President Mohamed Magarief discounted claims that the attack was in response to a movie produced in California and available on YouTube. He noted that the assault happened on Sept. 11 and that the video had been available for months before that.
"Reaction should have been, if it was genuine, should have been six months earlier. So it was postponed until the 11th of September," he said. "They chose this date, 11th of September to carry a certain message."

Re:Here is more from John Gruber of Daring Firebal
Spoken like someone who's probably never picked up an iPhone in his life. Select contact. Click-Hold address. Select Copy. go to whatever maps app or webisite you like and click paste.
It's really that simple. The whole maps 'disaster' is so overblown it's hilarious. If you live in any larger city, chances are you will never notice an issue that impacts you in any meaningful way. About the only useful info that's lacking are bus routes/times.

The rest of the issues are cosmetic. Is it perfect? No. Am I getting 'fucked' because of it? No. Hell, even Motorola's own commercial had to fake a bad address to do their commercial.

The first link breaks it down into a little more 'sane' dialog.
A) There are flaws in Apple's Maps database.
B) These flaws very likely do not affect you in any way.
C) These flaws will be fixed and served up without you updating any software.
D) There is a lack of public transit information, which may or may not affect you, but is partially remedied by apps.
E) You now get free turn-by-turn navigation and instant links to Yelp pages â" and no ads.
F) GPS-enabled Google Maps are still available on iPhones and iPads for free, through the Safari browser.
G) A Google Maps app for iOS will likely be here soon, too.

Re:My experience with Google WalletWow, "insightfull", really?
So letting my child play a game DESIGNED FOR KIDS on a tablet, while sitting next to me, is "letting tablet babysit" eh? And that coming from a guy that apparently doesn't have kids...
No I should not discover that buying stuff USING DAMN PC auto-enchants 3rd party apps on my Android devices to charge me for whatever they decide to. Whoever came to that idea, knowing Apple's experience on this, is a damn idiot in my opinion and I can't trust company that is so frivolous with my credit card. The parents' iTunes password was necessary to make purchases, so the common-sense argument was that the parents should simply not allow their kids to know that password. But at the time the lawsuit was filed, purchases could be made for 15 minutes after the password was put in to buy the app.

Except that Anon has real evidence in this case, and specifics.
Told you so. The list came from a third party app developer, not the FBI.

Not quite...
Putting it in quotes makes it sound like that's the comment GM made. What they actually said:
We regularly review our overall media spend and make adjustments as needed. This happens as a regular course of business and it's not unusual for us to move our spending around various media outlets - especially with the growth of social and digital media outlets.
In terms of Facebook specifically, we are reassessing our advertising, but remain committed to an aggressive content strategy with all of our products and brands, as it continues to be a very effective tool for engaging with our customers.
Of course you can take it as a polite way of saying "Facebook ads don't work". Or you could take it as a way of saying "we're trying something else to save money and that was bottom of the list". That same guy (before he got fired) also ended their relationship with ad agency Campbell-Ewald, who they'd been using for decades.
And now GM is reconsidering their decision to advertise on Facebook. Why would they do this? Because:
"We certainly don't want to walk way from 900 million consumers and we haven't walked away," Perry said. "We're a big proponent of Facebook."
It was certainly embarrassing - disastrous, even - coming on the eve of the IPO, and yes, it's nice grist to the mill of FB bashers. In reality, sometimes things aren't that black and white. Wasn't there a story here the other day where people were fiercely debating whether marketing and advertising are just a lot of nonsense anyway, with merely rudimentary metrics?

Re:Thats it. I am selling my bone marrow.
At least if you are in the U.S., no, unfortunately you cannot sell your bone marrow (or tons of other body parts/fluids, though of course not all -- e.g. sperm donors).

Re:That Poster...
It's a serious allegation. And there's more coverage than one article in Japanese.
However... I wonder how "effective" that little bit of lead shielding would actually be at "hiding" radiation exposure.
A tiny little shielding that you can wear like that won't deflect a whole lot of certain kinds of radiation. If you have a dosimeter reading from behind the shielding, it's likely possible that officials will "correct" the reading, based on the radiation deflection characteristics of the shield, and the readings taken behind the shield, it will be possible to estimate the radiation dosage that occurs without the shielding.
If a little bit of lead was that effective, the entire suit would be made out of the material.
To deflect a whole lot of radiation, you need 1" or greater thickness, which would be totally impractical for a worker to wear, due to the excessive weight of the lead.

TELL THE MEDIA!
You'd think the straight media would be blaring this out, since it's a BIG story that the secret codes that banks and such rely upon are essentially worthless. Wouldn't you? But no
... instead we get (on ABCNews) stories like "Which airline did consumers like best," and "Are you a Type A Driver?"
Well folks, maybe it's time for cyberdemocracy in action. Here's a list of emails where you can tell the government and the media about this story. I would ask that you please, please, pretty please be courteous and informative and to the point when you email these sites. Maybe this time we can get the message to people that our e-commerce infrastructure is lacking because of government boneheadedness.
