Stuff that comes from Nintendo just works.
Granted, some of the games are a bit weird, but they are very good at what they do.
They must be insanely hard on the programmers every time they get an bug report from the QA team (No sleep for a month to you!) because there are so few glitches.
I was moderately surprised to find out that the Wii was going to be firmware upgradable because I did not expect it to be necessary at any point.

Anyone who buys a PSP when, for just $10 more they could get a Nintendo DS and a portable DVD player is obviously not a smart consumer. The Nintendo DS has award-winning games like Super Mario 64 and Tamagotchi and the portable DVD player can play all the DVD+Rs that you can burn. It's win-win.

You are right, there have been no innovations in gaming in the last two years. And those are just the ones off the top of my head. Stop following the marketing hype crowd and look around for yourself.
