I totally agree with what you are saying. When students are caught taking drug, the president of the university has to come and apologize in front of the press; when a guy committed in mass killing, his parents has to deal with this also.
I am quite surprise seems no one has mentioned BSOD! You can show this to your boss and say your works gone and request for deadline extension, but just a second before BSOD you are reading/. or p0rn site.
Ooop, sorry is this a feature instead of a bug?
I can see it is important to hardware vendor as the coming of Vista means a big drive of sales to new CPU, memory, harddisk... or simply a whole new machine.
Actually many program actually do not require admin right but check this by default before they run... It would be nice if there is an option, instead of "run as", we can have a "pretend as"?
Oh. a little bit OT but I run my wine inside Linux and programs are all seen to be running as admin... surely I am logged in as a normal account.
So please, software developers, check your software works without admin priviledges!
Many developers do checking, but instead seems they just check if the program is runned wtih Admin right at the beginning to avoid any unexpected behaviour in their own program?
So just like Windows Firewall it just makes somehow default to the system and making the giant monster even bigger? Very good, people are finding their computer runs slower and buy a brand new computer with Vista preinstalled...
Thank you very much for the nice quote from Thomas Jefferson. Just google it and it's probably "The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers." http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/t/thomas_jefferson_7.html
Pick a copy of Presentationzen by Garr and study about it. Also read some presentations about technical topic on TED to learn how people present them
If you have an android tablet, would recommend you give RepliGo Reader a look.
1kg refers to a unit of mass, not weight. In everyday conversation it could be fine, but not a slashdot article on physics
Surely. He is not stupid enough to hold it with the "left" way
As Bill has left for long time and Ballmer is becoming so "important" in the /., why don't we change the icon about MS stories with Ballmer?

In Gentoo it is already in the official portage (and marked stable), so that you won't need a third party overlay.
I would highly recommend this article http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.Asp?ID=2547/ enough for fun. but probably some people are already doing some of them in their code?
To me issuing a killall npviewer.bin usually helps on my Gentoo 64 box.
I don't know about your case, but when I changed my language settings from Japanese the English(US) the IMAP option comes out!
Does this "police" runs in Linux?? This just reminded me the story few days ago... http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/08/23/ 190238
Hey Nintendo have dogs too! http://www.nintendogs.com/
Any cake from Microsoft this time??

When will google make a customized version of IE7 to run on Linux (with wine or whatever)?
I can see it is important to hardware vendor as the coming of Vista means a big drive of sales to new CPU, memory, harddisk... or simply a whole new machine.
Just for information. IE7 is now named "Windows Internet Explorer" instead of "Microsoft Internet Explorer"
I think I am getting thousand of "GET /msadc/..%c1%9f../..%c1%9f../..%c1%9f../winnt/syst em32/cmd.exe?/c+dir" or the similar everyday?

... because they are using Windows. Period.

Even better, this will cause some people to switch to Linux if they are locked by MS Office (yes I know you can use wine to run MS Office).
