If anybody says "that's just a cafeteria"...
...they're right.
Srsly. As a whole bunch of posts have said, plenty of companies have in-house cafeterias, and this is Apple's second one.
Maybe it'll save some employees the disappointment of finding out that the Little Mustard Seed isn't a sandwich shop....

Re:The terror threat is low
Yes, they are. Here are the citations for those so inclined:
NYPD wanting to run scanners on the streets of New York
TSA searching cars pulling up to the loading/unloading ramp at an airport
VIPR search in a train station
Another VIPR search at a train station
Stopping commercial vehicles on a highway in Arizona
Searches at a bus station
I'm sure there are more, but that should be enough to prove that no, the powers-that-be aren't limiting violations of the 4th Amendment to the airports. -
Romney is Against SOPA
Romney has come out and slammed SOPA today, while many professionals have said Obama will sign it because of the vast money he gets from Hollywood. Romney gets my thumbs up because while there is no perfect candidate, being in favor of SOPA is an automatic disqualification. The fact that Obama has come out in the past and said he will veto bills, but hasn't had the guts to same the same about SOPA/PIPA reflects poorly on his knowledge of the situation. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120108/00322817330/did-mitt-romney-just-come-out-against-sopapipa.shtml http://merrimack.patch.com/articles/video-mitt-romney-slams-sopa

Re:VIPR deployed on TN Highways
Don't forget this one, too. Yeah, we're well and truly screwed. I'm starting to think our only hope is an American Spring, not that I particularly want things to go that far...
:( But maybe some vocal demonstrations might shake things up a bit? -
Do not brazenly expose your ignorance, child.
I don't even know what most of these people stand for, or even want.
Well that's clearly a failure of your own research, isn't it? The UC Davis demonstrations were a protest against both the ~80% tuition increases they are facing, and the brutality used by the UCPD in suppressing other demonstrations.

Oh, and here's the UC Davis faculty association page
This information exists, and is readily acquired, but you have failed to even look for it. Instead you have enthusiastically swallowed a series of unsupportable right-wing talking points and then dutifully repeated them, thereby proving to the world that you are an outrageous tool.
Everything else you wrote is a similar display of lies and misinformation. You have not provided enough substance to be worthy of a complete response. Please try harder. -
Re:And I wonder what happens to the intl. monies
It's sure as hell not giving money back to any players. They don't give a flying about the players, they view the players as willing participants in illegal operations. I don't think the nationality ff the player really makes a difference.
One time the feds set up a racket to rip off US players and used the funds to buy weapons (with no money taken off the actual illegal casino), http://odenton.patch.com/articles/county-police-net-470000-in-online-gambling-seizure

Businesses are fleeing...
Businesses are fleeing California for a lot of reasons.
Those that remain may enjoy their fitted sheet mandate as enforced by their mattress police.

Re:Too bad
Sorry, but I've conservatives do not own the patent on bigotry. I've met more bigoted Democrats in my time than Republicans. Although, it's primarily because Democrats can get away with it.
Really? Citation needed.
See how that works? I suppose the difference is that I am referring to actual cases of obviously right-wing terrorism. Hell, I could pad this sentence out with more words all day, but I think my point is made.
Of course, I am sure these acts are all perpetrated by democrats who happen to share the same phobias and hatred that republicans have adopted as their political platform. I'm sure of it. Right? Because if even a few were conservatives acting out their hate rhetoric, that would be a lot worse than getting coffee spilled on you by some crazy guy, I think you can agree. So I should be punished for the actions of people over a century ago? Should we jail German children for the Holocaust? Oh, and I should also mention that Lincoln was a Republican. George Wallace was a Democrat. Given that, why are you NOT a Republican. Why is that Democrats believe themselves victimized for the slightest resistance after centuries of victimization of all those around them?
Please notice, I said nothing about Republicans or Democrats. I said, very clearly, the right. The parties changed places in the early half of the century because of the growing conservatism in the Republican party. But then, of course, you know this; you are just willfully ignorant to make a point.
I'm still waiting for an answer to my question. -

Re:Will environmentalists allow mining?
They sued to stop 4th of July fireworks because because the spent rockets land in the ocean. Their concerns can be dismissed until they start acting like rational people who care about humans rather than religious zealots.

What About Destroying Townships?
Do any of the simulations let you decide how to rip apart the township where you're mining?
You know like send out two different letters to townspeople in order to play them against the local township that's seeking to put regulations on your drilling? Maybe imply that if the people who hold mineral rights don't get a huge chunk of cash from your business they can sue the township board?
Maybe refuse to meet with the township and just turn their own people against each other just so you can drill without local permission?
Because after reading about Mount Pleasant in Pennsylvania, I really have to wonder where someone gets that particular skill to be such a ruthless asshole. -
Re:Back to their roots
Bill Gates developed a BASIC interpreter and dropped out of Harvard.
He didn't just drop out of Harvard... he jumped before he was kicked out... that BASIC interpreter was developed on stolen computer time and not only that, they'd been dumpster diving and used code they'd found in the bin...
"That phase of Allen's life involved taking the bus - sports coat, tie, leather briefcase and all - down to the offices of local computer gurus. âoeI would boost Bill into dumpsters and we'd get these coffee-stained texts" of computer code from behind the offices, grinned Allen."
PS... difficult to find real evidence on why he really left Harvard...

Re:Tell the sheeple it doesn't matter who wins...
Barack Obama has made it American policy to not go after medical marijuana dispenserise though George W Bush (and to be fair Clinton) did attach these legal (at a state level) and illegal (at a fed level) dispenseries.
That's bullshit. The Feds are still raiding dispensaries.
Here are three articles on recent raids that come up when I type in "dispensary raid" into Google News:

Re:Dissapointing title
There is probably a legal precedent somewhere. Laptops have been around for a long time enough, that someone whacked someone else on the head with a laptop.

Many more laws in California 01/01/2011 ...
fyi - There were actually 725 new laws in California on 01/01/2011
... and this one posted above is just 1 of them. -
