PC Weenies?
I suppose I can claim success when others start adding The PC Weenies to webcomic threads on Slashdot, without my shameless plugs. But, until then, I guess I've gotta do it. Hopin' the Slashdot crowd likes it.

Re:Goodbye, karma.
Or you could try reading The PC Weenies. Not verboten on Slashdot, well...not yet, anyway.

Apparently Dvorak can't take the heat...
...when it comes to criticizing him and so called other 'tech-pundits', as I did a few months ago on my weblog - when I proclaimed the title 'tech pundit' as being completely insulting and off-base for what his 'journalism' (and I use that word loosely) really is.
Apparently he can dish it out, but can't take it.

That is, are they just the ones you can buy anywhere for a few cents? And why not free as in speech, too? I'd be much happier that way... Well, I live in Canada, so I guess it doesn't matter anyway. Those were some of the greatest stories, and I have to say that unfortunately, they have shaped the way I deal with computers that are completely hosed. Someone brings me a computer... I don't know why this is so slow! So what do I do? Realize there's some spyware or something, because they use Windows... And then blow everything off the system, write zeroes all over the hard drive, and reinstall from scratch using my custom install disc that produces a "proper" Windows installation, if you can call Windows proper at all. Of course, I have a bit of a soft spot, so I back up their data files first. "Nationwide"? For what values of 'nation'? Re:Spire Backpacks
Chalk me up as another very satisfied customer. I've used my Spire backpack to shuttle my PowerBook and various other gadgets on various travels (Germany, India, Australia).
I purchased mine in 1997 and it's still going strong. It's also very comfortable on my shoulders, especially during hikes and other long distance walks (unlike most backpacks, it's shape is specially contoured to one's back).
Due to its outstanding quality, I purchased another one for my sister for her laptop. Here's the link in case you want to learn more about their products.

thorough and fair
I applaud Anand for taking the time to thoroughly put the G5 through its paces. If Apple were still running the 'classic' OS, I seriously doubt Anand would have even bothered to look at the platform, let alone review it. OS X is the main reason why I prefer Macs. It doesn't get in the way of what I want to do. At work, I have a G5 on one side, and a HP XW8000 on the other. Both have their advantage, but as far as OS intuitiveness goes -- the Mac wins hands down.
