Beyond Sting Theory Hype: Moving Dimensions Theory
http://physicsmathforums.com/
I find Moving Dimensiosn Theory highly imaginative and plausible.
Reasoned debate would be fun--let's stay away from the namecalling.
Moving Dimensions Theory: MDT
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial
dimensions. Moving Dimensions Theory accounts for the aetherless aether.
This simple postulate offers a physical model underlying and unifiying:
RELATIVITY:
1) length contraction
2) time dilation
3) the equivalence of mass and energy
4) the constant velocity of light
5) the independence of the speed of light from the velocity of the source
QUANTUMN MECHANICS
1) action at a distance
2) wave-particle duality
3) interference phenomena
4) EPR paradox
THERMODYNAMICS
1) Time's arrow
2) Entropy
STRING THEORY'S MANY DIMENSIONS / KALUZA/KLEIN THEORY
1) a fourth expanding dimension can be interepreted as many dimensions, each time it expands
THE UNITY OF THE DUALITIES
1) wave/particle duality
2) time/space duality
3) energy/mass duality
4) E/B duality
GENERAL RELATIVITY
1) Gravitational redshift
2) Gravity waves
3) Gravitational attraction
THE SPACE-TIME BACKGROUND
1) quantum foam
2) the smearing of space and time at small distances
3) Hawking's imaginary time
PARADOXES
1) MDT explains away Godel's Block Universe
2) MDT unfreezes time
3) Resolves Zeno's Paradox
ONE GETS ALL OF THIS FROM A SIMPLE POSTULATE:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial
dimensions in a sphereically symmetric manner, in units of the Planck length, at the rate of c.
This means that every point in three dimnesional space is always expanding into a fourth dimensional sphere with a radius of the plank length. A photon is matter caught on the surface of this quantized expansion, and thus energy is quantized. The expansion of the fourth dimension occurs at the rate of c, and thus the velocity of all photons is c.

"The only way to stay stationary in the fourth dimension is to move at the speed of light through the three spatial dimensions. Ergo the fourth dimension is expanding at the rate of c relative to the three spatial dimenions."
How sad it is that when truth stares modern physicists in the face, they must close their eyes so as to get a postdoc or raise more funds for String Theory.
Moving Dimensions Theory is in complete agreement with all
experimental tests and phenomena associated with special and general relativity. MDT is in complete agreement with all physical phenomena as predicted by quantum mechanics and demonstrated in extensive experiments. The genius and novelty of MDT is that it presents a common physical model which shows that phenomena from both relativity and quantum mechanics derive from the same fundamental physical reality.
Nowhere does String Theory nor Loop Quantum Gravity account for quantum entanglement nor relativistic time dilation. MDT shows these derive from the same underlying physical reality. Nowhere does ST nor LQG account for wave-particle duality nor relativistic length contraction. MDT shows these derive from the same underlying physical reality. Nowhere does ST nor LQG account for the constant speed of light, nor the independence of the speed of light on the velocity of the source, nor entropy, nor time's arrow. MDT shows these derive from the same underlying physical reality. Nowhere does String Theory nor
Loop Quantum Gravity resolve the paradox of Godel's Block Universe which troubled Eisntein. MDT resolves this paradox.
Simply put, MDT replaces the contemporary none-theories with a physical theory, complete with a simple postulate that unifies
formerly disparate phenomena within -

Tied Up & Strung Out: Hollywood String Theory Movie!!! Looking For Extras!!!
http://revver.com/video/48391/ (WATCH IT!)
ALL TIED UP & STRUNG ALONG, a movie about String Theorists and their expansive theories which extend human ignorance, pomposity, and frailty into higher dimensions, is set to start filming this fall. Jessica Alba, John Cleese, Eugene Levie, Jackie Chan, and David Duchovney of X-files fame have all signed on to the $700 million Hollywood project, which is still cheaper than String Theory itself, and will likely displace less physicists from the academy.
"As contemporary physics is about money, hype, mythology, and chicks," Ed Witten explained from his offices at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study, "The next logical step was Hollywood, although I thought Burt Reynolds should play me instead of Eugene Levy."
Brian Greene, the famous String Theorist who will be played by David "the truth is out there" Duchovney, explained the plot: "String theory's muddled, contorted theories that lack postulates, laws, and experimentally-verified equations have Einstein spinning so fast in his grave that it creates a black hole. In order to save the world, we String Theorists have to stop reformulating String Theory faster than the speed of light. We are called upon to stop violating the conservation of energy by mining higher dimensions to publish more BS than can accounted for with the Big Bang alone, and I win the Nobel prize for showing that M-Theory is in fact the dark matter it has been searching for."
Greene continues: "At first my character is reluctant to stop theorizing and start postulating, but when my love interest Jessica Alba is sucked into the black hole, I search my soul and find Paul Davies there, played by John Cleese. I ask him what he's doing in my soul, and he explains that the answer is contained in the mind of God, which only he is privy too, but for a small fee, some tax and tuition dollars, a couple grants here and there, and an all-expense-paid book tour with stops in Zurich and Honolulu, he can let me in on it. And he shows me God in all her greater glory, as he points out that we can make more money in Hollywood than writing coffee-table books that recycle Einstein, Bohr, Dirac, Feynman, and Wheeler. I am quickly converted, and I agree to turn my back on String Theory's hoax and save Jessica Alba."
But it's not that easy, as standing in Greene's way is Michio "king of pop-theory-hipster-irony-the-theory-of-everything- or-anything-made-
you-read-this" Kaku, played by Jackie Chan. Kaku beats the crap out of Greene for alomst blowing the "ironic" pretense his salary, benefits, and all-expense paid trips depend on. "WE MUST HOLD BACK THE YOUNG SCIENTISTS WITH OUR NON-THEORIES!! WE MUST FILL THE ACADEMY WITH THE POMO DARK MATTER THAT IS STRING THEORY TO KEEP OUR UNIVERSE FROM FLYING APART, OUR PYRAMID SCHEMES FROM TOPPLING, AND OUR PERPETUAL-MOTION NSF MONEY MACHINE FROM STOPPING!!" Kaku argues as he delivers a flying back-kick, "There can be ony ONE! I WILL be String Theory's GODFATHER as referenced on my web page!! I have better hair!"
But Greene fights back as he signs his seventeenth book deal to make the hand-waving incoherence of String Theory accessible to the South Park generation, senior citizens, and starving chirldren around the world. "Kaku! Kaku! (pronounced Ka-Kaw! Ka-Kaw! like Owen Wilson did in Bottle Rocket)," Greene shouts. "It is theoretically impossible to build a coffee tables strong enough to support any more coffee-table physics books!!!"
"Time travel is also theoretically impossible, but there's a helluva lot more money for us in flushing physics down a wormhole. Nobody knows what the #&#%&$ M stands for in M theory ya hand-waving, TV-hogging crank!!! Get it?? Ha Ha Ha! We're laughing at the public! We're the inside -

Wait a moment here.
What is wrong with his premise,
"The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions."
It explains a lot, and unifies disparate entities of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics with a single underlying physical model.
Burying him will hardly prove him wrong, but only show that Slashdotters oppose reasoned debate.
I'm happy to support his theory, so let's begin here:
I found this at http://physicsmathforums.com/ --there is far more there, but I do not wish to over-post:

Re:relativity as light is just surfing the expandi
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
I never said that the time dimension is expanding.
Again, the fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
Time is an emergent property of this underlying reality.
In Moving Dimensions Theory, General Relativity concerns itself with frozen snapshots of the space-time continuum. The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions, and GR freezes the expansion, and investigates the relative curvature in different regions. The fourth dimension is seen as just that--a fourth dimension on equal par with the three spatial dimensions, but it only ever runs a Planck's length deep. Macroscopic time is oft confused with the fourth dimension, but it is an emergent property of a fourth dimension expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions in units of the Planck length. Time inherits aspects of the fourth expanding dimension, but it is not a dimension in the sense that we can not freely go back and forward in it, but for at distances equal to the Planck time, as the past and future do not exist; as was once supposed by Einstein's block universe and the pleasant science fiction masquerading as physics that concerns itself wormholes and time machines.
Hawking's imaginary time is the frozen fourth dimension, which is orthogonal to the three spatial dimensions and hence the i--which implies emergent orthoganality when one is solving equations. The frozen time only ever runs the Planck length deep, for as soon as a point in the fourth dimension has expanded as a spherically-symmetric wavefront to a sphere of Planck-length radius, every point on that sphere expands again. The rate of this expansion of the fourth dimension is c--the velocity of light.

String theory is representative of what has been playing out in numerous arenas--on Wall Street (Enron, Worldcom, pension-raiding), in literature (Frey, rampant plagiarism, plotless, storyless hype), in government (those who promise to cut taxes and raise them). What it comes down to is the destruction of truth, freedom, and the individual by elite fools with ambitions overshadowing their talents. Want to be the next Einstein or Shakespeare or Bill Gates? Sign up for our pomo-hipster MBA/JD/Ph.D. program! The pomo academy must destroy common sense in order to hawk their product. You too can be Brian Greene with a PBS mini-series, but only if you buy Michio Kaku's textbook on String Theory, which opens with:
"The great irony of string theory, however, is that the theory itself is not unified. To someone learning the theory for the first time, it is often a frustrating collection of folklore, rules of thumb, and intuition. (IN OTHER WORDS IT IS NOT PHYSICS!!!) At times, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for many of the conventions of the model. For a theory that makes the claim of providing a unifying framework for all physical laws, it is the supreme irony that the theory itself appears so disunited!!" -Chapter 1. Path Integrals and Point Particles: Why Strings? "Introduction to Superstrings and M-Theory," page 5. -Michio Kaku
"If Einstein were alive today, he would be horrified at this state of affairs. He would upbraid the profession for allowing this mess to develop and fly into a blind rage over the transformation of his beautiful creations into ideologies and the resulting proliferation of logical inconsistencies. Einstein was an artist and a scholar but above all he was a revolutionary. His approach to physics might be summarized as hypothesizing minimally. Never arguing with experiment, demanding total logical consistency, and mistrusting unsubstantiated beliefs. The unsubstantial belief of his day was ether, or more precisely the naïve version of ether that preceded relativity. The unsubstantiated belief of our day is relativity itself. It would be perfectly in character for him to reexamine the facts, to -

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself--and you are the easiest person to fool. So you have to be very careful about that. After you've not fooled yourself, it's easy not to fool other scientists. You just have to be honest in a conventional way after that.
I would like to add something that's not essential to the science, but something I kind of believe, which is that you should not fool the layman when you're talking as a scientist. I am not trying to tell you what to do about cheating on your wife, or fooling your girlfriend, or something like that, when you're not trying to be a scientist, but just trying to be an ordinary human being. We'll leave those problems up to you and your rabbi. I'm talking about a specific, extra type of integrity that is not lying, but bending over backwards to show how you are maybe wrong, that you ought to have when acting as a scientist. Also, if we trace the path of a photon on a space-time diagram, the only way for a photon to remain stationary in space-time is to move at the speed of light.
Think about this.
In order to stay stationary in space-time, the photon must propagate through space with the velocity c. It must keep up with the expanding fourth dimension in order to have zero net movement through space-time.
The null vector, which represents a vector of zero length in space-time, can only imply zero movement through space-time. Even though a photon moves through space at a velocity equal to c, it stays stationary in space-time. Is it not strange at first that in order to remain stationary in space time, a photon moves through space? This is because the fourth dimension itself is moving relative to space.
Moving Clocks Emit Less Photons = Moving Clocks Run Slow
As an object accelerates through space, it is rotated more and more into the expanding fourth dimension. Less wave fronts of the expanding fourth dimension, which can carry away photons, are allowed to pass through it. Thus a moving clock will run slower, as all clocks are based on the probabilistic emission and propagation of photons, and as a moving clock catches up with the expanding wavefront of time, the chance that a photon will be emitted without being reabsorbed is diminished. Simply put, the faster a clock propagates, the more likely it is to reabsorb a photon, and as an object ceases to emit photons, it ceases to age, as all aging, be it the unwinding of a clock spring, the oscillations of a quartz crystal, or biochemical reactions, are inherently related to the emission of photons.

Are New Ideas Important in Physics?
String theorists don't make predictions, they make excuses.
--Richard Feynman
An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over and converting its opponents: What does happen is that the opponents gradually die out. -Max Planck ...I do feel strongly that this is nonsense! ...I think all this superstring stuff is crazy and is in the wrong direction. ... I don't like it that they're not calculating anything. ...why are the masses of the various particles such as quarks what they are? All these numbers ... have no explanations in these string theories - absolutely none! ... -Richard Feynman in Davies and Brown, Superstrings, Cambridge 1988, pp. 194-195.
String theory is the Enron of physics, and like Enron, it is but the tip of the iceberg of the widespread group-think decline. Where Enron and Worldcom and Global Crossing lied to plunder pensions and investors, String Theory lies to plunder tax and tuition dollars. With millions of NSF dollars at stake, and billions more in the way of tax and tuition, fashion and group-think are now held superior to logic and reason in physics. And as in all totalitarian systems which hold themselves above logic, reason, truth, justice, and practicality, the worst are promoted, while the best are exiled. The group-think sycophants get the postdocs, while the indie physicists must forage on their own.
Are new ideas important in physics as prominent physicists so often proclaim? If so, then why are young scientists with new ideas based in logic, reason, and reality, so often castigated, impugned, and crucified while those who quietly, passively, and uncreatively accept the nonsensical, none-physics, crackpot mythologies of String Theory and M-Theory rewarded with vast salaries, health benefits, TV shows, book deals, and tenure?
I would very much like to discuss my new theory here, but I am forbidden from even mentioning its name, as the String Theorists and other fashionistas do not approve of theories with postulates based in logic and reason. And so their multi-billion dollar myth is perpetuated at the expense of logic, reason, and physics.
But time is on our side. And what is time? I am not allowed to say, as my theory is banned for the moment.
The current state of physics has several Prominent Physicsists and Great Thinkers spinning in their graves:

Re:relativity as light is just surfing the expandi
What is time?
Time is an emergent property of the underlying reality that a fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions. All our measurements of time are based on the emission and propagation of photons, and all photons propagate by surfing the expanding fourth dimension. So it is that time inherits properties of the fourth dimension, but time is not the fourth dimension.
Too many physicists have extended dimensional properties to the notion of time, rather than realizing that time is an emergent property tied closely to a fourth expanding dimension. Because our notions of time are linked to change, and because all change is linked to the emission and propagation of photons, and because all photons propagate in the expanding fourth dimension, time has naturally been confused with the fourth dimension. Because the fourth dimension is expanding in quantized units, macroscopic objects never make it any deeper into the fourth dimension than a quantum unit.
This explains why although we can move up, down, left, and right, we can't go back to yeasterday, except in the science fiction penned by Kaku, Thorne, and Davies.
Time is an emergent property of a fourth dimension expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
The purpose of physics has ever been to unify diverse physical phenomena with simple postulates, laws, and formulas reflecting the deeper physical reality. MDT unifies relativity and quantum mechanics by positing that they are both emergent properties of moving dimensions. MDT's simple postulate--the fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions--offers the first satisfactory explanation of the Einstein Podolsky Rosen (EPR) effect and the nonlocal behavior inherent to the math and physical reality of quantum mechanics. Time itself is viewed not as the fourth dimension, but as an emergent phenomena arising from the expansion of the fourth dimension relative to the three spatial dimensions. This logic alleviates a confusion of time with an actual fourth dimension where one can travel back and forth at will, thus addressing Godel's, Einstein's, Hawking's, Barbour's, and Penrose's concerns about frozen time, and accounting for time's relentless arrow, the second law of thermodynamics, and entropy.
Brian Greene's Treatment-The Time Dimension is Moving Relative to
the Spatial Dimension
As Brian Greene points out in the Appendix to Chapter 2 of The Elegant
Universe, we note that from the space-time position 4-vector
x=(ct,x1,x2,x3), we can create the velocity 4-vector u=dx/d(tau), where
tau is the proper time defined by
d(tau)^2=dt^2-c^-2(dx1^2+dx2^2+dx3^2). Then the "speed through
space-time" is the magnitude of the 4-vector u,
((c^2dt^2-dx^2)/(dt^2-c^-2dx^2))^(1/2), which is identically the speed
of light c. Now, we can rearrange the equation
c^2(dt/d(tau))^2-(dx/d(tau))^2=c^2 to be
c^2(d(tau)/dt))^2+(dx/d(tau))^2=c^2. This shows that an increase of an
object's speed through space, (dx/d(tau))^2)^(1/2)= dx/d(tau) must be
accompanied by a decrease in d(tau)/dt which is the object's speed
through time, which also may be considered the rate at which time
elapses on its own clock d(tau) or the proper time, as compared with
that on our stationary clock dt."

Get it?? Ha Ha Ha! We're laughing at the pu -

String Theory is a Postmodern Joke!!!!!!!! Even its textbooks say so!!!
Moving Dimensions Theory is the new paradigm!!
Rock out at http://physicsmathforums.com/ !!
For a theory that makes the claim of providing a unifying framework for all physical laws, it is the supreme irony that the theory itself appears so disunited!!"
Chapter 1.
It would be perfectly in character for him to reexamine the facts, toss them over in his mind, and conclude that his beloved principle of relativity was not fundamental at all but emergent--a collective property of the matter constituting space-time that becomes increasingly exact at long length scales but fails at short ones. This is a different idea from his original one but something fully compatible with it logically, and even more exciting and potentially important. It would mean that the fabric of space-time was not simply the stage on which life played out but an organizational phenomenon, and that there might be something beyond." -A Different Universe, Reinventing Physics From The Bottom Down, Robert B. Laughlin, Winner of the Nobel Prize in physics for his work on the fractional quantum Hall effect.
"[String Theory] has no practical utility, however, other than to sustain the myth of the ultimate theory. There is no experimental evidence for the existence of strings in nature, nor does the special mathematics of string theory enable known experimental behavior to be calculated or predicted more easily. Moreover, the complex spectroscopic properties of space accessible with today's mighty accelerators are accountable in only as "low-energy phenomenology"--a pejorative term for transcendent emergent properties of matter impossible to calculate from first principles. String theory is, in fact, a textbook case of Deceitful Turkey, a beautiful set of ideas that will always remain just barely out of reach. Far from a wonderful technological hope for a greater tomorrow, it is instead the tragic consequence of an obsolete belief system--in which emergence plays no role and dark law does not exist."
-A Different Universe, Reinventing Physics From The Bottom Down, Robert B. Laughlin, Winner of the Nobel Prize in physics for his work on the fractional quantum Hall effect.
The master antitheory of the age is the idea that there is no fundamental thing left to discover, so that the world we inhabit is simply a swarm of detail that belongs to no one and thus can be legitimately handled by business tactics--resource management, competitive advertising, survival of the fittest, and so forth. A corollary is that there is no absolute truth, but only products, like shirts or hamburgers, that one throws away when their usefulness is exhausted. Antitheories are dangerous ideologies not only because they impede inquiry but because they -

Ed Witten Seen Read Not Even Wrong
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE PHYSICS TIMES
Princeton, NJ
http://physicsmathforums.com/
Ed Witten was seen reading Woit's THE NOT EVEN WRONG while simultaneuosly walking down Nassau Street in an inertial frame, followed by his 137 postdocs, who were chanting in unison, as measured by a stationy observer standing outside of PJ's Pancakes.
Some towards the front of the line started crying first (in the lab frame), as they realized it was the end of a free ride for blind obedience, and that for health benefits, trips to exotic conferences, and summers off, they were going to have to start thinking on their own.
The news spread far and wide. Up in Cambridge Lubos Motl changed his snarky one star amazon review for NEW to a laudatory five star review, so as to secure future NSF funding. And Michio Kaku added Woit as a friend on his myspace page, after a call from his media team.
"I've seen darker days than this," Brian Greene smiled, recalling the bar scene with the hot chick in his PBS mini-series. "I already got my two string theory coffee table books out and am set. I know that I have secured the Nobel--in literature."
Witten said, "It is time to make peace. The most important thing that we ST, LQGers, and Not Even Wrongers must do is continue to oppose physical theories, which unify disparate physical phenomena in the same physical framework. Otherwise mathematical masturbation will fall out of favor, and we will have to join the proletariat in working for a living and taking what they're giving."
I wish Woit would have talked more about his views on the future of physics. For it is not enough to criticize, and I would hate to see the future of physics dominated by those untying the knots of String Theory.
ST hath failed. Utterly and completely. It could not have failed more with twice as much NSF fundining.
String Theory was the only game in town, and now there are two--ST & deconstructing ST.
But there is another that actually unifies QM & SR & GR with a physical model: MDT--it's physics!
Moving Dimensions Theory is in complete agreement with all experimental tests and phenomena associated with special and general relativity.
Nowhere does String Theory nor Loop Quantum Gravity resolve the paradox of Godel's Block Universe which troubled Eisntein. MDT resolves this paradox.
Simply put, MDT replaces the contemporary none-theories with a physical theory, complete with a simple postulate that unifies formerly disparate phenomena within a simple context.

Tied Up & Strung Out: Hollywood String Theory Movie!!! Looking For Extras!!!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Re:Very interesting... Moving Dimensions Theory
Hello All, Please respect that Moving Dimensions Theory is just a theory. Unlike String Theory, Moving Dimensions Theory is rooted in logic and reason, and it comes complete with a postulate: THE FIRST POSTULATE OF MOVING DIMENSIONS THEORY: 1. The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions. More specifically, the fouuth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions in units of planck length at the rate of c. I look forward to feedback and insights regarding its logic. Moving Dimensions Theory http://physicsmathforums.com/ Questions Addressed by MDT: Why is the speed of light constant in all frames? Why are light and energy quantized? How can matter display both wave and particle properties? Why are there non-local effects in quantum mechanics? Why does time stop at the speed of light? How come a photon does not age? Why are inertial mass and gravitational mass the same thing? Why do moving bodies exhibit length contraction? Why are mass and energy equivalent? Why does time's arrow point in the direction it points in? Why entropy? Why do photons appear as spherically-symmetric wavefronts traveling with the velocity c? Why is there a minus sign in the following metric? x^2+y^2+z^2-c^2t^2=s^2 What deeper reality underlies Einstein's postulates of relativity? What deeper reality underlies Newton's laws? What underlies the laws of Inertia? Why does general relativity fail at short distances? Why does quantum mechanics dominate at short distances? Why have so many great minds, Einestin, Godel, Wheeler, Hawking, and Penrose called for a new conception of time? Suppose the wave I was riding represented a coordinate in a dimension. Then although I was approaching shore, I was not moving in this dimension. The dimension itself was moving with me-I was surfing the dimension. In a flash I saw that that is why photons never age-they are moving along with the fourth dimension, and thus stationary relative to it. In another flash I saw that that is why a photon's space-time interval is represented by a null vector, or a 0, no matter how far it travels. Indeed Einstein stated that an object's velocity through space-time was always c-even stationary objects are traveling at the velocity c through time! How could this be, were it not for a fourth expanding dimension, which matter could surf as photons, giving rise to our notion of time? Questions Addressed by MDT:
Why is the speed of light constant in all frames?
Why are light and energy quantized?
How can matter display both wave and particle properties?
Why are there non-local effects in quantum mechanics?
Why does time stop at the speed of light?
How come a photon does not age?
Why are inertial mass and gravitational mass the same thing?
Why do moving bodies exhibit length contraction?
Why are mass and energy equivalent?
Why does time's arrow point in the direction it points in? Why entropy?
Why do photons appear as spherically-symmetric wavefronts traveling with the velocity c?
Why is there a minus sign in the following metric? x^2+y^2+z^2-c^2t^2=s^2
What deeper reality underlies Einstein's postulates of relativity?
What deeper reality underlies Newton's laws?
What underlies the laws of Inertia?
Why does general relativity fail at short distances? Why does quantum mechanics dominate at short distances?
Why have so many great minds, Einestin, Godel, Wheeler, Hawking, and Penrose called for a new conception of time?
If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.

Moving Dimensions Theory (MDT)
Today I am writing regarding Moving Dimensions Theory--a deeper model for explaining diverse phenomena in both quantum mechanics and relativity.
The General Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
The Specific Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory:
The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions at the rate of c in quantized units of the Planck length.
Relativistic, classical, and quantum mechanical phenomena, as well as time itself, are emergent properties of this fundamental principle. Newton's laws, the principle of Inertia, Einstein's postulates, and the inherent wave-particle duality of QM may be explained with this model.
A few years back, while surfing a towering wave on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a beautiful thought occurred to me. Suppose the wave I was riding represented a coordinate in a dimension. Then although I was approaching shore, I was not moving in this dimension.
The dimension itself was moving with me--I was surfing the dimension. In a flash I saw that that is why photons never age--they are moving along with the fourth dimension, and thus stationary relative to it. In another flash I saw that that is why a photon's space-time interval is represented by a null vector, or a 0, no matter how far it travels. Indeed Einstein stated that an object's velocity through space-time was always c--even stationary objects are traveling at the velocity c through time! How could this be, were it not for a fourth expanding dimension, which matter could surf as photons, giving rise to our notion of time? And so it is that Moving Dimensions Theory was born as the wave crested and crashed about me, thundering on down, as I fought t -

Tied Up & Strung Out: Hollywood String Theory Movie!!! Looking For Extras!!!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
We're the insider pomo hipsters! Get with the gangsta-wanksta-pranksta CRANKSTER blin -

Hollywood String Theory Movie: Now Shooting!

Tied Up & Strung Out: Hollywood String Theory Movie!!! Looking For Extras!!!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
We're the insider pomo hipsters! Re:: Moving Dimensions Theory Unifying ST, GR, QM
Here's a good analogy of "surfing a wave" that sheds light on Moving
Dimensions Theory.
Surfing a Dimension: The Birth of Moving Dimesnions Theory
http://physicsmathforums.com/showthread.php?t=60
A few years back, while surfing a towering wave on the Outer Banks of North
Carolina, a beautiful thought occurred to me. Suppose the wave I was riding
represented a coordinate in a dimension. Then although I was approaching
shore, I was not moving in this dimension. The dimension itself was
moving--I was stationary with respect to this dimension, but moving
relative to other dimensions. I was "surfing" a moving dimension.
The General Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory: The
fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three
spatial dimensions.
In a flash I saw that that is why photons never age--they are moving along
with the fourth dimension, and thus stationary relative to the fourth
dimension, while moving at the velocity of light relative to the three
spatial dimensions.
And behold! I saw that "moving dimensions" explained the equivalence of
mass and energy. E=mc^2 arose because whenever matter "surfs" the
expanding time dimension, it appears as energy in the three spatial
dimensions.
In another flash I saw that that is why a photon's space-time interval is
represented by a null vector, or a 0, no matter how far it travels through
space.
Indeed, in his special theory of relaitivty, Einstein stated that an
object's velocity through space-time is always c. This means that even
objects stationary in the three spatial dimensions yet have a velocity c
through the fourth dimension. How could this be unless the fourth
dimension is moving relative to the three spatial dimensions? Even
"stationary" objects sitting on your desk are traveling at the velocity c
through time! How could this be were it not that the fourth dimension is
traveling at the vecolicty c relative to the object that is stationary in
the three spatial dimensions?
Thus there exists a fourth expanding dimension, which matter can surf as
photons, giving rise to our notion of time, as well as the equivalence of
mass and energy in E=mc^2. And so it is that Moving Dimensions Theory was
born as the wave crested and crashed about me, thundering on down, as I
fought to remain surfing amidst the foam, facing the setting sun
silhouetting the Hatteras light.
What Does It Mean For A Dimension to Move?
Einstein's well-regarded theory of General Relativity inherntly
necessitates the reality of moving dimensions. And yet some trained
physicists have a knee-jerk reaction that the fourth dimension cannot be
moving because "dimensions cannot move."
But dimensions can and do move relative to one-another.
First off, since the universe is expanding, space-time is also expanding,
demonstrating that dimensions are moving and expanding. Secondly, general
relativity demonstrates that massive objects warp space-time, meaning that
as a massive object moves though space-time, it stretches space-time,
showing again that space-time in one area can move, or deform, relative to
space-time in another area. GR is a sound theory, backed up with multiple
high-profile experiments, including the demonstration that starlight is
bent by the sun and the verification that orbiting stars radiate energy in
the form of gravity waves. Thus there exist neither philosophical nor
physical barriers to the concept of moving dimensions, but for artificial
ones within lazy minds.
A curious sign of the times is that some physicists will accept on blind
faith the existence of ten, twenty, or thirty dimensions, dimensions that
are curled up, or too small to measure, and yet they will reel in shock and
horror at a perfectly obvious postulate--the fourth dimension is expanding
relative to the three spatial dimensions.

Philosophical and Physical Barriers to Moving Dimensions
Many trained physicists have a knee-jerk reaction that the time
dimension cannot be moving because "dimensions cannot move." First
off, since the universe is expanding, space-time is also expanding,
demonstrating that dimensions are moving and expanding. Secondly,
general relativity demonstrates that massive objects warp space-time,
meaning that as a massive object moves though space-time, it stretches
space-time, showing again that space-time in one area can move, or
deform, relative to space-time in another area. GR is a sound theory,
backed up with multiple high-profile experiments, including the
demonstration that starlight is bent by the sun and the verification
that orbiting stars radiate energy in the form of gravity waves. Thus
there exist neither philosophical nor physical barriers to the concept
of moving dimensions, but for artificial ones within lazy minds.
A curious sign of the times is that physicists will accept on blind
faith the existence of ten, twenty, or thirty dimensions, dimensions
that are curled up, or too small to measure, and yet they will reel in
shock and horror at a perfectly obvious postulate-the fourth
dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
They are to be forgiven-it has been a long time since a simple
postulate has been offered in the realm of physics, and the foreign
nature of truth's simple beauty is seen as a violent affront to the
String Theorist's convoluted sensibilities.
Moving Dimensions Theory Can Unify GR & QM:
By offering an underlying reality from where both branches of physics
emerge-an underlying reality of a fourth dimension expanding relative
to three spatial dimensions, MDT unifies relativity and quantum
mechanics not with indecipherable mathematical mythologies, but with a
simple postulate. MDT explains quantum mechanical effects such as
wave-particle duality, the EPR effect, and the quantization of light
and energy, as well as the two postulates of relativity: the speed of
light is constant in all inertial frames and the laws of physics are
the same for all inertial observers. MDT also explains relativistic
effects such as time dilation and length contraction. The beauty of
Moving Dimensions Theory is that it explains properties of quantum
mechanics and relativity in the deeper context of a unified framework,
opening a door to a deeper physical reality-the fourth dimension is
expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
The Purpose of Physics
The purpose of physics has ever been to unify diverse physical
phenomena with simple postulates, laws, and formulas reflecting the
deeper physical reality. MDT unifies relativity and quantum mechanics
by positing that they are both emergent properties of moving
dimensions. MDT's simple postulate-the fourth dimension is
expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions-offers the first
satisfactory explanation of the Einstein Podolsky Rosen (EPR) effect
and the nonlocal behavior inherent to the math and physical reality of
quantum mechanics. Time itself is viewed not as the fourth dimension,
but as an emergent phenomena arising from the expansion of the fourth
dimension relative to the three spatial dimensions. This logic
alleviates a confusion of time with an actual fourth dimension where
one can travel back and forth at will, thus addressing Godel's,
Einstein's, Hawking's, Barbour's, and Penrose's concerns about
frozen time, and accounting for time's relentless arrow, the second
law of thermodynamics, and entropy.

Hello All,
Please respect that Moving Dimensions Theory is just a theory. Unlike String Theory, Moving Dimensions Theory is rooted in logic and reason, and it comes complete with a postulate:
THE FIRST POSTULATE OF MOVING DIMENSIONS THEORY:
1. The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
More specifically, the fouuth dimension is expanding relative to the
three spatial dimensions in units of planck length at the rate of c.
I look forward to feedback and insights regarding its logic.

Moving Dimensions Theory (MDT) Today I am writing regarding Moving Dimensions Theory--a deeper model for explaining diverse phenomena in both quantum mechanics and relativity.
And so it is that Moving Dimensions Theory was born as the wave crested and crashed about me, thundering on down, as I fought to remain surfing amidst the foam, facing the setting sun silhouetting the Hatteras light. And the waves kept on crash

Re:SR without "moving dimensions"
Think about this:

Also, if we trace the path of a photon on a space-time diagram, the only way for a photon to remain stationary in space time is to move at the speed of light, or to keep up with the expanding time dimension. The null vector, which represents a vector of zero length in space-time, can only imply zero movement through space-time. Even though a photon moves through space at a velocity equal to C, it stays stationary in space-time. Is it not strange at first that in order to remain stationary in space time, a photon appears move at the speed of light through space? This is only because the time dimension itself is moving relative to space.
Einstein proclaimed that all objects travel through space-time at c.
Even though we perceive a ruler along the x axis to be stationary, it
is yet traveling through space-time at the fixed speed of c, implying
that time is moving through it. Rotate it towards the y axis, and its
projection upon the x axis shortens, yet it still appears to be
stationary, and it is still traveling through space-time at the rate
of c. Rotate it into the time dimension, and it's projection along
the x axis still shortens, but now it begins to move through the three
spatial dimensions, while maintaining the fixed speed of c through
space-time. Again, we see it move through the three spatial
dimensions as it is rotated into the time dimension because the time
dimension is moving relative to the three spatial dimensions.
As Brian Greene points out in the Appendix to Chapter 2 of The Elegant Universe, we note that from the space-time position 4-vector x=(ct,x1,x2,x3), we can create the velocity 4-vector u=dx/d(tau), where tau is the proper time defined by d(tau)^2=dt^2-c^-2(dx1^2+dx2^2+dx3^2). Then the "speed through space-time" is the magnitude of the 4-vector u, ((c^2dt^2-dx^2)/(dt^2-c^-2dx^2))^(1/2), which is identically the speed of light c. Now, we can rearrange the equation c^2(dt/d(tau))^2-(dx/d(tau))^2=c^2 to be c^2(d(tau)/dt))^2 +(dx/d(tau))^2=c^2. This shows that an increase of an object's speed through space, (dx/d(tau))^2)^(1/2)= dx/d(tau) must be accompanied by a decrease in d(tau)/dt which is the object's speed through time, which also may be considered the rate at which time elapses on it's own clock d(tau) or the proper time, as compared with that on our stationary clock dt.
As an object moves through space, it is rotated into the time dimension, and less wave fronts of time are allowed to pass through it relative to a stationary object, which bears the full brunt of wave fronts. Thus a moving clock will run slower, as all clocks are based on the probabilistic emission and propagation of photons, and as a moving clock catches up with the expanding wavefront of time, the chance that a photon will be emitted without being reabsorbed is diminished. Thus it is shown that the spatial and temporal dimensions are moving relative to one-another. The laws and equations of relativity and quantum mechanics rest upon this fundamental nature of physical reality.
Rest Energy:
Where does an object's rest energy come from? It comes from fact that the expanding time dimension is moving, giving a stationary object a velocity of c through space-time, even when the object appears at rest on a lab table. This massive velocity relative to time, when translated into the spatial dimensions via a Lorentz rotation of the velocity 4-vector, is manifested in energy. E=mc^2.
The Photon's Null Vector:
How can we be comfortable that an entity of zero length moves at the speed of light? The only way for this to make sense is if the time dimension is moving relative to the spatial dimension. A null vector in space-time is defined by a photon, which moves at the velocity of light through space-time. So it is that to have zero length in space-time, an entity must translate thro -
