You can tell this is a newbie article when they refer to linux.com as "the Linux website".

No, but if there were other people in the car (read:forum), I'd talk to them about the problem. I would also hope that they wouldn't get angry just because I was wearing an All Advantage T-shirt.
If the car ran out of gas five times a day, I'd point that out, too. Just as I point out the worthless articles. I mean, who really cares what's going on in Brazil?
I hate the way Hemos posts articles, with all these stupid links!

Related NYTimes Article Today
Today's story in the NY Times (free account, yadda yadda) on Dirty Tricks on the web has a whole section on Meta Tag tricks and talks about Playboy suing a number of sites who have spammed thier meta tags with the word "playboy" to increase traffic from search engines.
The article makes some other interesting points, although it seems to be geared for the "non-techies."

As someone who used to work for a company like that (high monitoring of internet activities), the first thing you learn is not to just click on any old link handed out. Most browsers support some sort of link preview through a tool tip/pop-up or on the status bar or something. Check it out first, if you're worried about Herr Gestapo logging you. Click for more
