The FDA is not in the game is regulating if only safe and effective products can be on the market. Look at psych drugs for example. The companies market the drugs in a very similar fashion as the TC has seen products not FDA approved marketed. What I have noticed about the medical industry is it's all snake oils and magic bullets, for profit. When I was a child they showed videos in elementary school on this issue, highlighting medicine in the 1800s, which consistent of people marketing hocus pocus. Alleged doctors would go around looking for "sick" people to cure, they might only dose the person with some morphine or other deadly chemical cocktail, the previously bedridden individual would then be shown as up and walking and the doctor proclaimed he was "cured." Then days later, the kid drops dead, highlighting the snake oil/magic bullet industry. Other techniques included performing surgeries that actually seriously harmed the individual, leaving them in veggie state and whatnot, ie cutting nerves or brain up (lobotomy). The individual would be a walking zombie of their performer self, proclaimed as cured, then deaths often ensued. Removal of organs and other abuses also occurred.

Today the industry funnily operates the exact same way. Companies look for chemicals or surgeries they can market as cures, and they train themselves to perform those "treatments" but in reality, most of the treatments don't work and aren't treatment. A handful are, such as bacterial killing agents, fungus killing agents, virus killing agents, but others such as "heart burn treatments" do more harm than good. Pain relief are prescribed to people who have only minor pain and don't need any chemical for it. A person might have a surgery to remove an organ or tissue that was healthy, to treat a specific problem, which then leads to other disabilities and malfunctions because the person actually really needed that organ or tissue even if there was some underlining disorder the doctor had attributed to the organ or tissue. I read a dreaded case of this happening to a women in UK recently.

Back to the case of psych drugs - the largest snake oil/magic bullet farce industry around with purely fictional marketing for every drug on the market, they market the drugs as treating schizophrenia/anxiety/bipolar/depression, however the industries own studies prove the drugs don't even begin to treat these issues, kill over 500,000+ elderly annually, reduce 25 years average from the persons life, kill 1 in 2 to 1 in 3, reduce recovery rates from 80% for none drug users to 5% to drug users, induce 75,000 heart attacks annually and prevent survival during those attacks, cause 15 times more suicide than reported by the industry, cause severe brain damage/vein swelling/scar tissue build up in the brain/fluid build up in the brain/etc, induce violence and suicides, are nothing but petroleum byproducts being spun as treatments, etc. The studies going back decades prove that alternative none drug based treatments work better, such as psychotherapy, or even giving the person money to procure housing and other basic needs. Doctors in the mental health field typically diagnose mental illness falsely, when in reality the person is suffering from other issues like poverty and political matters that have caused them

the anti vaxers are smart. they pick up on the lies. they know medical professionals lie to promote their businesses. it's a business not medicine. this has resulted in medicine science being mostly entirely fraudulent propaganda, statements made by the medical profession without facts or scientific basis.

I have knowledge that vaccines are mostly a for profit system. doctors like them because so many visits to their offices are forced by pro vaccine legislature backed by billions of dollars in profits. they like to use a psychological warfare tactic to disarm the public who feels wronged by the profiting and forced medical procedures.

the same issue effects psychiatry. psychiatry is largely debunked by the industries own medical science but you never hear about it from them. they profit off abducting healthy children and adults into mental hospitals, for profit group homes, where mental health care is not provided only forced medication injections.

yet MDs continue to do what they do calling themselves more scientific than chiropractors? hey at least chiropractors work on people functionally, choosing less disabling less deadly treatment options than MDs. MDs prefer to set up for profit treatment models involving using unnecessary surgeries to remove body tissue, and medication that does not help and only induces illnesses - both options cannot be reversed, whereas chiropractors choose to try to fix peoples bodies without the deadly unneeded mutilation, or at least give you something to help you cope better with your issues.

Psychiatry has a long history of mentally and physically maiming people, from shock torture, to lobotomies, to forced subjecting people to cold and heat and torture to modify behavior, to drugs that damage the brain and cause death 25 years sooner, to drugs that cause CTE/chronic traumatic encephalopathy, to drugs that induce psychosis, to drugs that cause dementia, to drugs that prevent recovery of a persons mind, etc. They are in fact behind the holocaust because it was psychiatrists coming up with the idea of eugenics, to cleanse the human race of what psychiatrists deemed were "bad DNA" of the homosexuals, jews, mentally ill, etc. Then psychiatrists were responsible for MKULTRA and CIA mind control programs here in the United States; and today they are responsible for the mind control program of operating "forced chemical lobotomy" centers to drug our youth, prisoners, and mentally ill subjects in hospitals and jails and community centers and schools all around the country.

CCHR hooked me up with two attorney's when I was down in Los Angeles last week, visiting UCLA for a brain injury, when the psychiatrists there misdiagnosed me, refused to do tests or treatment for my physical injury, then had me committed to UCLA Resnick and tried to force medications when I had no signs of mental illness. I was informed by CCHR that UCLA is a military research facility and they just try to fill their beds for human experimentation, which I believe, based on what I know of UCLA's history of mind control programs funded by the CIA (MKULTRA participation). Without CCHR, it's possible I would have had no help whatsoever, because they are the only ones actually telling the truth about psychiatry and its' dark history (with lawyers, doctors, and money to back it up).

It's not just Canada and the UK. They have involuntary committment in the US. And just like it varies from state to state in the US, the process varies from province to province in Canada. Manitoba, which the original post is about, requires both a physician and the Provincial Psychiatrist, and there is a review board.

I'm more familiar with Ontario, which has an informative guide put out by the "Queen Street Outreach Society [which] is a community-based non-profit organization made up of people who've experienced the mental health system." According to them, and it seems to match what I remember from reading the Mental Health Act, involuntary patients:

are informed of their right to legal counsel, seen by a rights advisor and given a chance to appeal at the Consent and Capacity Board (if a patient appeals a Board's decision, their case goes before the courts).

So maybe crazyphilman should compare his State's laws with those of various Canadian provinces. If after that he or she is still scared of Canada then at least it won't be based on sensationalism.
