:) I for one would love to browse news that doesnt make it...

hey!
Where are all of first posts?!! Damn script kiddies arnt Y2K compliant i suppose...
:)
I HATE version numbers based on the year of release.. It doesnt make any sence... Look at Windows 95, there are like 5+ 'sub versions' which the average tech doesnt realize there is a difference between... Why cant all software vendors use the Linux Kernel numbering scheme? :)

Re:More to add

I REALLY miss BBSs :P
I for one really miss BBSing in general.. My personal BBS is still up at:
http://aubbs.cx
Ive had this thing up since the late eighties, started out on a commodore 64 with a 1200 baud modem, then eventually moved to a c128, amiga 500, amiga 2000, amiga 4000.... :)
At one point i had over 15 lines on it... Arctic Underground BBS was a free system.. I kept it up on user donation and McDonalds paychecks ;) The best part was the user picnics! I had picnics for the users around once a month, and usually had over 50 users attend, usually with their whole family... Thats what i really miss, is the community...
Now all we really have is AOL. Thats why i want to write a really cool Web based BBS... I miss that sence of family back when people actually could easily get to know one another online! :) ahh the memories.....
At least this gives me a use for my T1 other than putting up South Florida Geek Storm Cams :)

Whoa, my bbs has activity!
Its nice to actually see activity on my amiga 4000 for once
:) Puts my T1 to good use :)
Ths coolest thing is the fact it can handle 10 callers at once with 10 megs of ram and 100 megs of hard drive space (OS AND BBS software)
CNet Amiga kicks ass :)

Cool! :)
Getting FreeS/WAN and Firewall-1 shouldnt be to hard... I wasnt aware of the FreeS/WAN project (until now
:) , but now i cant want to set it up and test it with Linux! (the coolest advantage of working at a Checkpoint reseller, lots of Nokia based Checkpoint firewall-1 boxes laying around)
Ill install S/WAN on some redhat boxes here and test it with checkpoint 4.0 and 4.1... (and hopefully Checkpoint Linux someday soon ;)

I cant wait :)
Richard O'Brian and Tom Baker!! WOOHOO!
:)
I cant wait to see this one! It doesnt matter to me if its cheesy or not... But then again, im a Rocky Horror fan and Tom Baker is my favorite doctor, so my judgement may be tainted somewhat O:)
Check out my homepage at ralph.cx -
Eeek my bedroom is slashdotted!! :)
I have pics of the house at http://ralph.cx/page.phtml before the storm....
As I read some of the responses here i would like to point out, we took all of the important stuff out of the house (like our main server with 40+ gigs of mp3s) and have dat backups of everything else, so we are just trying to make light of the situation. Hurricanes are a fact of life in Florida and we understand the risk living on the water... I think it was really cool of Hemos to put it up, thanx :) Now i wish i had more than a 256 Frac-T.....
Almost everything in our house runs linux... (except for the HP-Apollos running HP-UX, the NeXt box, and my Amigas....) -
Current CAM shot of computer
There is what appears to be a Webcam shot of one of the computers in the house at ralph.cx
Let's not /. it too quickly, eh? -
Austin Powers Rocked!
** MILD SPOILER ALERT **
I loved it! I was quite suprised that the movie only had a PG-13 rating though.. The movie was clearly full of sexual innuendo/content. (of course I LOVED that ;)
My favorite part was Dr. Evil singing his version of 'Just The Two Of Us' , REALLY cool.
I wonder which companies paid for advertising? :) From the 'AOL You Have Mail' Headquarters call in the sports car, Dr. Evil's corperation owning Starbucks coffee, and the clearly shown Virgin superstore.. i was just a little curious...
Quite a lot of cameo appearences also... my suggestion: go see it right now! (unless your a highly religious nut who hates perversion, in that case avoid it at all costs)
