When you do live streaming audio, you use don't use your web server to encode the audio - you use a separate, dedicated machine for that. This is true for Real Audio as well as Shoutcast and the open-source Icecast.
(I'm not talking out my ass here - I geek for Technostate, an internet radio station that broadcasts live events.) -

Animations do not work
Some music streams seem to work, but for example, these example animations do not. They only say "Some components are not available to provide playback of this presentation on your system". So it seems that only limited set of codecs is supported !?!?

They've probably upgraded their RealAudio Player to version G2 (I think it is supposed to be so revolutionary it is "Generation 2"....more marketing hype
