/. == Senseless MS Bashing
"I hate Balmer" and all such senseless posts are obnoxious reads! I don't come here to read your crap comments. Don't you have any brains? So what that you hate Balmer? Do I care? MS bashing was in vogue in the last century! Get over it. http://techwatch.reviewk.com/ms-bashing-is-out-of-fashion/

Microsoft still is a market leader...
No matter how much people hate MS, the fact of life is that MS leads the market in a lot of segments. The failure of Microhoo is not that bad as has been made to sound. It takes balls to walk out of a deal which the whole world is watching. It was good that nothing hostile was done (MS is capable of doing that - has the moolah). In the end, it is Yahoo's loss. A lot of enterprising employees have quit, and many will, soon. What will Y! be without its best people? M$ will survive and do something else. What? That is a million, rather, billion dollar question. http://techwatch.reviewk.com/

Balmer is Smart
Balmer did nothing wrong - why do I say? He screwed with one of his ad competitors (yahoo) made them look like dog sh*t; smoked out Google and finally nothing like getting the troops at msft at least moving again..they have been lame competitors since the DOJ bullshit... Balmer had nothing to lose and a ton to gain on the competitive strategy side..finally good to see Yahoo get competitive or at least hitting the proverbial gym.. This was doomed from day 1 http://techwatch.reviewk.com/

Fond memories
From http://techwatch.reviewk.com/2008/04/blakes-7-poised-for-sky-comeback/ I feel sure that if you can remember the TV series âBlakeâ(TM)s 7â then you most probably have fond memories of it. It was, on balance, an interesting mix of adventurous television making on a very low budget. In fact, I well recall a comment made, I believe, by the producers that a single episode of âBlakeâ(TM) had about the same budget as a âStar Trekâ(TM) coffee break. So letâ(TM)s see. What do I remember. I recall flimsy sets and even flimsier acting; grandiose title music; perhaps one of the first series where the writers felt free to kill off main characters; at least one whole series of âBlakeâ(TM)s 7â with no Blake, or, for that matter, only 6 of them (I believe); the irascible ORAC; Servalan (who could forget her or her haircut?) and, of course, Avon - to mention just a few.

Too Late
The heady plans are smart but have come too late.

Re:Features
From: http://techwatch.reviewk.com/2008/04/ubuntu-hardy-heron-8-04-2/ [reviewk.com] -- Ubuntu 8.04 includes GNOME 2.22, the latest version of the popular open-source desktop environment. There are many new features and significant architectural improvements in GNOME 2.22, including GVFSÃ"a completely redesigned virtual filesystem abstraction layerÃ"and PolicyKit, a secure privilege elevation system that is safer and more flexible than the anachronistic gksudo mechanism. Ubuntu now also includes PulseAudio, a powerful new sound server with support for network transparency and advanced mixing capabilities. Although PulseAudio has a lot to offer on the desktop, it still suffers from some transitional issues and integration weaknesses in this release that manifest themselves in certain configurations. One particularly significant feature included in this release is Wubi, a Windows-based installer that allows Ubuntu and Windows to coexist on the same partition. Wubi installs a fully functional Ubuntu environment into a folder on the Windows filesystem and sets up a boot menu that allows the user to enter Ubuntu at startup. Wubi doesnÃ(TM)t require the user to partition their hard drive and it makes it possible to uninstall Ubuntu directly through the Add/Remove Programs utility in Windows. There are a handful of new applications included by default in this release, such as the Transmission BitTorrent client, the Cheese webcam application, and a new CD burning program called Brasero.

What lenghts will we go?
While the tech is superb, was wondering what lengths we will go to avoid the spammers. Come on, you also need spammers to keep the world entertained! I still remember the first time I got the Nigerian money mail, and the breast enhancement ideas. So too for the blogs. When I login into my blog admin dashboard, the second thing I check is the spams.
:-) Come on, you don't want to kill an industry! :D -TW Techwatch: Technology News that matter http://techwatch.reviewk.com/ -
