Red Vs. Blue Final Episode Airs
Wired discusses the last episode of the Red vs. Blue web series, which ends tonight with its 100th episode. The long-running show has been lauded as highly influential in the world of machinima, and made the folks at Rooster Teeth into household names among gamers. If you enjoyed RvB, their current project is a Machinima set in the Shadowrun FPS entitled 1-800-MAGIC. "'We didn't even know what machinima was,' says Burns. 'We played a ton of Halo at LAN parties because Xbox Live didn't exist yet. The humor of us yelling across the room led to Red vs. Blue.' The videos are recorded directly from three Xbox consoles running a linked game of Halo. Players on two consoles play the red and blue characters, and one player on a third game console records all the action from the first-person viewpoint. Burns ... promises that Wednesday's final episode will 'honor that unique distribution method -- we have the ability to do some things on the internet that you can't do in television or film.'" -
Red vs. Blue Series to Wind Down
Via Joystiq, the news at the Red vs. Blue site that the 100th episode will be their last. Despite the 04/01 posting date of the announcement, it looks like the reality is that there are only a handful of episodes of the Blood Gulch Chronicles left. "One hundred is a great number, and it seems like the perfect place to call it a show. I am sure you have some questions about our plans for the series and beyond. We will be talking about all of that in the weeks and months to come, but I want to use this time to thank all of you for nearly half a decade of support. For now, it's back to work. From the recent developments in the storyline, you may have noticed some loose ends coming together and we have a lot to wrap up in the last seven videos. We hope you will love them as much as the first seven or the middle seven or whatever it was that initially drew you to the world of Red vs Blue." It's always great to see a series go out on a high note, and one can only hope that the folks at RoosterTeeth plan to work on new projects in the future. -

In the article they interview a number of machinima artists including the folks at Rooster Teeth Productions who brought us Red vs. Blue." Premiere of The Strangerhood
ack154 writes "As previously mentioned here, the guys and girls over at Rooster Teeth Productions (the creators of Red vs Blue) have started a new series based on the Sims 2. As of last night, Episode 1 has officially hit the download servers. Currently available in DivX, WMP, and QuickTime formats, the first episode weighs in at just over 5 minutes. " As a big RvB fan, I'm looking forward to seeing where this one goes. -

Red vs Blue Meets The Sims
blackbearnh writes "The folks over at Rooster Teeth Productions, best known for their Red vs Blue comedy movies based on the Halo rendering engine, are branching out with a second series, with more of a sitcom flair, called The Strangerhood. This time, they're using the Electronic Arts Sims 2 game as their rendering engine."
