Re:Gaming logic
Upon obtaining the magical leaf, Mario actually transformed into a strange human/raccoon hybrid. Of course, that doesn't make it any more logical.

Snoot's classic video game ''wuss'' scale
snoot.org has had something almost identical to this for quite a while. But those are just 8-bit NES characters, and you can vote like a jillion times. -

Re:Why not?
Tom, I don't want to be overly critical, and I realize that aesthetics are pretty subjective, but I find their webpage much more intuitively navigable than your snoot site.

Yeah, yeah, I got your jokes
;o) I still reckon they should have called it Mother Brain. -

And what of Nintendo characters?
What about Nintendo characters? Is it the fat guy from Ice Hockey or the L-shape from Tetris?

First, make the games
- First, make the games. You'll probably find out it's a lot more work than it seems.
- Then, try to convince people to play your games. In order to do that, you'll probably have to make them free to play (because you'll be competing with lots of other game sites, like mine that offer games for free).
- Once you have a rabid following (!), then you can try to solve the problem that everyone else has on the internet: how to turn a popular site into a cash cow without alienating your audience.
- I don't think Open Source or not will enter into it. What you need is users, not intellectual property.
Good luck! Personally, I suggest just doing it for fun.

Who needs any dead-tree cookbooks when you have...
... the Snoot.org infinite cookbook?
Just to whet your collective appetites:
"Lard Meatloaf
(serves 11)
1. 3/4 cup lard
2. 1 gallon cabbage
3. 2 tsp. ketchup
4. 9 tbsp. garlic
5. 3 pinches celery
Lard meatloaf is sure to please the toughest customer with its wonderful aroma and super-duper looks. Working with ketchup is fun and easy. The Vietnamese usually eat this dish with their hands.
First, preheat the oven to 100 and grease a 8x21" casserole dish.
Start by laying the lard in the casserole dish like you're on a cooking show.
Next, mix in cabbage quickly with your hands. (careful, it is a tasty treat!)
Then, mix in ketchup gently with a large spoon.
Spread the garlic.
Mix in celery quickly.
Cook 30 minutes or until dark brown.
While you're waiting, did you know that lard is made of pure yum?
This dish is best served warm." -

Of course...
Of course, this is nowhere near the level of play found at Schizophrenic Internet Chess Online , where most people think to a depth of 0. Chess without remorse!

A LOT of quake is already on I2
Lots of internet Quake is played at universities, and traffic between Internet2 schools already passes over I2 backbones instead of the "regular" internet. For instance, anybody with a hookup to the Abilene backbone will get great pings to my Q3F server. Unfortunately, your bedroom is probably not considered an academic institution, so you might have a tough time convincing the I2 people to connect you in, IPv6 or not!
