Re:Not actively deleting cookies
Flash really is evil. Using a 3rd party advertising flash, I was able to create a proof of concept for pop-ups in firefox, even with pop up blocking(Default) enabled. As long as you have flash, and it runs automatically(default), it will pop up.
Here is the firefox popup proof of concept.

Re:Purple Bayes...It actually takes a certain amount of mail before the bayes even turns on. It doesn't want to turn itself on and then start scoring messages with a limited amount of intelligence.
If you want, I have put one of my user's spambox into a tgz if you want to untarball it and then run
sa-learn --mbox < Spam

Re:Links or URLs?Actually I don't see how that would be legally different. HTML email is still plain text, it just has extra headers, MIME boundaries, and MIME types. Not all email clients respect the html encoding just as not all convert text to links. I don't really see how it could be legally different.
Chris Benard
You can't include a link in a plaintext email. Some mail readers turn URLs into links, but the message itself doesn't contain links. This might let you sidestep the issue entirely.
You can include links if you're using HTML mail, so the patent would still be a problem in that case.

Re:does many things right
You can use any xbox game that supports lan play online with xbconnect. The free version works quite well, especially with halo, since that's what everyone plays online. There's no voice like with live, but capture the flag online with halo rules. My gamertag on Live! is RedChina, so add me to your friends list.
Thanks,

Piracy vs. Sharing
Now, I've posted on why it's time to pay up or admit you're a pirate.
Arg Maties!! If ye be perpetuating the myth that boarding a ship and stealing booty(physical, tangible goods) is the same as copyright infringement, then you are mistaken.
I am so sick of hearing people say that "it's just like shoplifting". If I wasn't going to pay for it, and I didn't deprive anyone else of the opportunity to purchase it, where is the monetary loss? I fail to see it.
If I couldn't download roms to play, that doesn't mean I was going to go out and purchase a Neo Geo machine, a bunch of pinball machines, and a Mortal Kombat 3 machine. Not only can't I afford several thousand for each of those, but I have no room for it.
Copying bits is not stealing physical property. It is sharing, and companies do not like people to share.

Not in the long run since September 15th when they implemented this crap.

Verisign will help!
They will help all those people who try to vote for 3rd-party candidates using their patented Vote-Finder "service".

The Servers Ned!Suit: The Servers Ned! They stole all our servers!
Ned: No, we moved everything onto that one(points to ibm e-server in back corner). It's going to save us a bundle.

Re:What about 172.16.0.0/12?
Well...I'd want the default subnet mask to be correct, so barring other concerns, I'd choose the IP range that has the subnet mask correct.
CIDR, an acronym for Classless Inter-Domain Routing makes this irrelevant.
Oh yes, and an Everything2 Node for your reading pleasure.

Re:How can they really stop it?Here's what it sounds like when read by AT&T Natural voices as suggested by parent. Please be kind to my cable modem.

Re:The scary thingI wish I had mod points to mod up your reply to me because I literally just laughed out loud at work. I think it was mainly the "boing". However, they didn't CHANGE their name, they BOUGHT another company.
Ok, I'll play the analogy game too:
Let's say your mom(linux) had the best fudge recipe in the whole world and no one knew that she stole part of the recipe from Chef(unix puchased by sco). Then she released that recipe to the world on the internet. Next Chef purchased all rights to a company that was selling a version of your mom's free recipe because he loved it too. If Chef finds out then that part of it was stolen from him, mom can't simply say, "Ha ha, you bought me and I had already released it as open, so your recipe is open."I realize all of that was stupid but so was yours. However, yours was funny.
Everybody knows wookies don't live on Endor, you must acquit.

Re:Grow upDude, lighten up. He was making fun of the FORMER Iraqi Misinformation Minister. He actually proposed that it was a movie set and that we were not there. He said we weren't anywhere near Baghdad. It truly WAS comic gold to see him say that. Unfreakinbelievable. Heres some quotes from him:
"Their infidels are committing suicide by the hundreds on the gates of Baghdad. Be assured, Baghdad is safe, protected."
"They're not even [within] 100 miles [of Baghdad]. They are not in any place. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion
This one is good, the day we took the airport: ... they are trying to sell to the others an illusion.""Today we slaughtered them in the airport. They are out of Saddam International Airport. The force that was in the airport, this force was destroyed."
This REALLY cracks me up, as if they even have PATRIOT(not the act) like systems:
"NO", snapped Mr al-Sahaf, "We have retaken the airport. There are NO Americans there. I will take you there and show you. IN ONE HOUR!""Listen, this explosion does not frighten us any langer. The cruise missiles do not frighten anyone. We are catchign them like fish in a river. I mean here that over the past two days we managed to shoot down 196 missiles before they hit their target."
Regarding the scuds we shot down with PATRIOT missiles:"It has been rumored that we have fired scud missiles into Kuwait. I am here now to tell you, we do not have any scud missiles and I don't know why they were fired into Kuwait."
"They are sick in their minds. They say they brought 65 tanks into center of city. I say to you this talk is not true. This is part of their sick mind."
"Our initial assessment is that they will all die"
This is regarding the THOUSANDS of pow's we have of theirs:"Those are not Iraqi soldiers at all. Where did they bring them from?"
Sorry for editorializing, but I wanted to put them in perspective. Iraqi Bob, as FNC and others have dubbed him, is HILARIOUS. He really is. I could listen to him all day.Sources:
