Re:Wont do justice?
It's about two teams of four outwitting eachother
Congratulations, you just described an 8 player game of Team Fortress or one of its sequels, the most recent of which is Fortress Forever... er... I mean Team Fortress 2.
Except that people don't seem to be playing the same 4/5 maps over again on Team Fortress 2. Maybe it's because Valve's actually updating that game, unlike Left 4 Dead... -
Those days still exist!
Valve Software patches their games frequently, and not just bug fixes. Team Fortress 2 for example regularly comes out with "themed" update packs that will give new unlockable weapons and abilities to individual characters, new maps, and new gameplay modes. Seriously, they keep the content coming even almost 2 years after the game first came out, with no sign of letting up!

Re:Looking forward to this
Did you see the crab-walking kit on clearance? I love it.
For those unfamiliar, there are no actual crabs in the game. Crab walking is this really bizzare motion due to his spindly arms/legs that the spy has if you crouch, look straight up while selecting the disguise menu. Sort of the ultimate spy-taunt. Oh, I am looking forward to all the new taunts(!) all games should take note and add taunts. -
More Info: Graph
Sorry to make another post but there's a graph illustrating their server score algorithm applied to the last week of TF2 games across all servers. I'm betting they generated a couple different versions of this with different algorithms until they settled on their current one. The graph confused me a bit initially, it's just a distribution of the server scores compared to the total number of connections on those servers. The point was to demonstrate that on really "bad" servers that sham you there are a high number of connections because they gussy up the numbers to look attractive, which is Valve's impetus for solving the problem. The orange area on the right is how bad you have to get before they actively filter you out. Notice how relatively few of the servers are in the negative at all.

Can't wait.
Scout is my favorite class.
I'll be lobbing baseballs at people, chugging energy drinks, and scatter gunning the fuck out of shit. (Scatter gun replacement will probably be a lame nail gun, I need my boomstick.) -
Team FortressACtually, people have already been working on the models for Quake 3 Team Fortress already. The original was a huge hit as a mod for Quake 1. You can choose 8 classes, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. It made Quake 1 a real team player game. If you did not work as a team, you lost.
THe website for the Q3 Team Fortress project is here
I Still prefer player Quake Team FOrtress over Q3Arena currently
:)
