Re:Don't GPS's stop working in China?
According to this, it's in your best interest not to use your GPS while there...

LTE is not 4G (yet)
LTE is not 4G. Here in Norway, one provider is in some trouble for falsely advertising their upcoming LTE offering as 4G.
Nokia explains that LTE is not 4G here.

Re:Android tablets on ebay for less than this
Well the teardown of an iPad resulted in an estimated production cost of ~$300. It would be very unlikely that an Android device with comparable hardware would sell for any less then $400. Only $100 profit is a very slim margin - especially when you still have to consider all the other costs of doing business.
Here is a link to the teardown article.
I see no reason that this should be so.
But it obviously is. It takes time and money to make a quality device. Give them some time and you will get your quality $200 device - but it is still several years away.
After all netbooks manage it and have as many, if not more components & costs to worry about than a tablet.
But a tablet uses _different_ parts that just happen to be more expensive. In addition, there are no good $200 netbooks. In the $500 range you start finding some good ones but these do not help support your statement.

Re:Why it cost more here in US ??
The cut-throat prices in India is brought around by the recently liberalized telecom sector. The article is a bit misleading becuase many of the partners in this venture are horizontal (ie, Tata Indicom owns VSNL which used to be the incumbent operator).
They have to get in now becuase BSNL is quick on thier heels with cheap broadband and Reliance's purchase of FLAG is putting pressure on the IP circuit market. http://www.telecomasia.net/telecomasia/article/ar
t icleDetail.jsp?id=141142 Reliance is currently after VSNL in other ways too. -
Re:It is a good thing...(flamebait?!?!?)Well, that used to be the concern. (Although, considering your analogy, how much of the scrambled eggs need to be cooked before there's a problem? We are talking about brains, here.) The new concern (of scientists, not all the emotionally-motivated common folk) is the magnetic field from the big 'ol speaker magnet right next to your ear.
Interestingly, a 13-year study in Denmark found no increase in cancer rates for cell phone users: http://telecomasia.net/dailystories/2001/02-2001/
0 8022001/firstnews.html. (Now, if only I could find that magnetic field article...)
