Re:Spare us the uninformed babble, please
Is that really what they refer to as being a green company? If they were really green, they'd get rid of all those plastic discs, and distribute all the software over the internet, or at least get rid of the oversized boxes for their software. I know companies that are much more green. Take the Beer Store for example. They recycle somewhere near 95% of their products sold. I wish they'd bring back returnable glass bottles for milk and Pop. It would do the environment a lot more good than the current system. I think that food should be pushed into reusable packaging for everything. It would make a lot more sense, and put a lot less stress on our landfills.

Re:Want to blow your mind...go read liquor lawsI like the way things are in Ontario. Government-run liquor stores and brewery-run beer stores.
They have great selection and consistent pricing whether you are in downtown Toronto or Ottawa or some small northern town. Plus, by having the provincial government making piles 'o cash, it reduces our taxes. Ontario liquor and beer stores are clean and well organised with knowledgeable people working in them.
I realise that these organisations were created when Ontario was much more conservative and uptight place, but the net result is better than leaving it to the distributor cartels that seem to be operating in many US states. I am not sure if the LCBO ships.

Re:This is what I feared
"People, that's 2.5 Red Bulls."
OF COURSE!! why didnt I think of relating electronic purchases to 40 Oz Beers
I think we have a new unit of measurement here. By my calculations the new 499$ Imac is aproximately 144 cans of Colt 45!!
now to figure out a way to convert # of beers drunk to libraries of congress forgotten and we are home free -

Recycling and The Beer Store
ith an approximate 94% recycling rate, the lead-acid battery industry is just about as good as it gets.
Further, the cycle of lead from smelter -> battery manufacturer -> consumer -> old battery to smelter is as tight a closed loop as you'll find (short of a cow in a pasture).
Ahh, The Beer Store.
98% recovery rate of _all_ packaging. All by offering a mere 10 cents per bottle.
And yet every few years some Conservative will spout off about privatising the damn thing. Despite truly ridiculous selection, rural community reach, and said environmental success.
