Re:More than that for some

Damn. $350k in benefits. There's a story in there somewhere.
The retirement system investment officers making big bucks is understandable. They get huge kickbacks from the mutual funds they approve for 401k or pension retirement programs. Perhaps Sgt Taylor is a high-level manager and not just a nightstick toting 2nd shift guard. -
More than that for some
One correctional sergeant made $983,6602 in total compensation 2017.
And people wonder why government in California is going bankrupt...

Re:Millennials having kids
In case anyone cares, you can look up the salaries of any California state worker, including teachers, here: https://transparentcalifornia....

Look in the mirror idiots
California government employee salaries are a (mostly) matter of public record and are freaking posted for everyone to see.

Re: How is this news for nerds?
Do you really wanna know what teachers make: go to http://transparentcalifornia.c... and enter "teacher" under job title.
Those are actual salaries for California state employees. -
Re:What's the price of your integrity?
I wouldn't even concern myself with the top of the top. It could be arguable whether they are worth the cost, but it's the next level and next level of 6 figure administrators that suck the life out of the UC system. And remember there's a pension to be spiked along with post-retirement healthcare that's sucking the life out of the system.
Go here Transparent California and enjoy your weekend.

Re: It's all relative
Please, go here:
http://transparentcalifornia.c...
it's the actual pay for California teachers, searched by simply the term "teacher".
And then tell me again how little they make. -
California - Re:State employees
In California all salary records are available at http://transparentcalifornia.c.... They lag by a year or two, but it's all there.

Imagine
Anybody employed by a government agency is used to not only having the salary of their position public, but having their names and salaries published in major newspapers for everybody to read:
Example

AnotherI think we can all agree that the salaries of government positions should be public, but I'm not sure publishing actual people's names, positions, and salaries in a public database is ethical.
