Re:No.
this switch would be monitored
Your faith in your government is nothing short of astounding.
Cops here in Houston bring in a guy. Guy claims the cops beat him, cops claim they found him that way. Well, we've got footage from the cop cars, right? Well, the cops turned the cameras off for some reason. But that's ok, because "the deputy did nothing wrong".
Why can the cops turn their car cameras off? Why do you think this switch will be "monitored"? Why do you believe that anyone is going to have to explain to any superior as to why they needed continuous fire, or why they used the thing on the bunch of kids waiting in line for a game their little timmy wanted for christmas in the first place? -
spelling mistake
--my apologies. I rememered the story, but looking for the name I hit an incorrect spelling. Corrected it is General Rick Baccus. Google is still GIGO it appears
;p
Here is a Link to links about him. -
Re:tranquilityTranquility is such a great game (Check out my review here. You see a bunch of include errors...that's because it was done long ago and Belo Interactive sites no longer support their punchbutton video game section). In fact, it's been a long while since I've jumped into TQ World and I should get back into it. Maybe your class could interview the developers (who seem very accessible on their forum) regarding the mathematics behind the game.
Plus, it'd be nice if you could get kids into this sort of game rather than the violent/gore filled games they go home to when they fire up their PS2s.

Shoddy Belo websites
I don't know if this has been mentioned previously, I don't have the time to read through 377 comments ; ) but Belo's websites have some of the shoddiest methods of checking if you are registered to read their content. Just try these two (Belo likes to ask you to sign in to read local news): dallasnews.com and texas cable news All you have to do is turn off JavaScript and you can bypass all of their mechanisms to deny unregistered readers. This proves quite helpful, since their registration form is even more onerous than the NY Times. Their reg form wants your first and last name and even your address! The numbskulls who run their sites must not realize this, because I've been using this method for months.

coincidence?
This story was covered by slashdot last week.
This could be pure coincidence, but I can't help but wonder if maybe the government knew something was coming but didn't know exactly what. -
Quick news hunt.
