    Odd that the NEC article would show links to a Canesta solution, with a news release way back in 2002. I hesitate to post the links because both sites will get slashdotted instantly, and the latter site has a silly activex, but this shows a VKB solution for a PDA. VKB itself can be seen here.

    I've seen and used VKB technology. It's very compact and an elegant solution. Unlike Canesta, it doesn't need a stereoscopic view of the target area, which means it really could fit into a pen sitting in a charger or other holder.

    However it looks way too similar to previously reported "Virtual Keyboard" on http://www.vkb.co.il/. They claim thay have patents on their holographic keyboard/interface also.

    Yea, and it doesnt look cool. It looks like someone put todays tech into an 80s series vision of the future. And can it be called a palm anymway?

    Next time i buy a PDA it will play Mp3s and answer calls in my teeth, display right on my retina and take input via a projected keyboard. Until then ill stay with my atari portfolio...

    i agree with the vaporware assessment...has anyone checked out the VKB Web Site??? it seems a little lite on information or any actual content...in fact, the only thing there seems to be of any detail is bios of the management and the board of directors...i almost expected it to be one of those fake SEC investment sites...
