Re:Well
Well, I think what uspets people is that they don't hear condemnation of this kind of thing *from Muslims*. If next month Christian suicide bombers in ten separate incidents killed a lot of non-Christians, I can 100% guarantee you Jerry Falwell would be denouncing them.
I can pretty much guarentee he won't. -

Eastern Europe = Big MistakeLast time I checked, wasn't Eastern Europe a spot where various hackers, virus writers, spammers and bot nets launch their attacks from?
http://www.smh.com.au/news/icon/attack-of-the-bot
n ets/Eastern Europe is the international cybercrime hot spot and although the countries of the former Soviet Union are half a world away, cyber crooks have Australian computer users in their sights, according to Australia's top cyber cop, Kevin Zuccato.
http://www.wilmingtonstar.com/The breakup of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s led to thousands of technically savvy people losing their jobs, says Zuccato, who heads the Australian High Tech Crime Centre.
"There's definitely a group of virus writers and hackers in Russia and in the Eastern European bloc that the Russian mob has tapped into."
Basically, we're moving out of the (Indian) frying pan and into the (Eastern European) fire. -

Real atrocities? Are you paying attention?
If they were reporting on real atrocities (being humiliated is not an atrocity, at least you're still alive) then they would've covered the beheading a whole helluvalot more than they did.
Being raped by a broomstick is an atrocity. It's more than just humiliating to be beaten with a chair.
Some of them aren't alive anymore, in case you aren't satisfied yet that something more than harmless "humiliation" is occuring.
In case you believed the official excuse, it isn't just a few individuals.
Bias and hate don't mitigate facts. There's a reason this is news. -

When is the army going to install this in Iraq?
Oops, I forgot we don't deserve the same freedom as the Iraqis. Silly me. -
zap!In a letter to The New England Journal of Medicine on Thursday, three Swiss doctors reported the case of a 52-year-old man with a pacemaker who was experiencing sporadic bouts of dizziness.
The doctors were puzzled. But a detailed history revealed that the patient had been using a little-known alternative medicine device called a Zapper, which generated electrical impulses when held in both hands. Each time the patient tried to use it, the doctors said, his pacemaker would stop working and start up again only when the man fainted and dropped the device.
"This went on for several months," said Dr. Osmund Bertel, a cardiologist at Triemli Hospital in Zurich and one of the authors of the letter. "The modern environment is full of these things that people don't realize can interfere with their pacemakers. But it's important to be aware of them."
Another little-known menace to people with pacemakers, some doctors say, is a popular treatment for pain relief called PENS, or percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Often used for lower back pain, the treatment, which is akin to acupuncture with electric current, has been shown to affect some pacemakers, said Dr. Sergio Pinski, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Fla.
"Pretty much any device that delivers current to the body has the potential to cause problems," Dr. Pinski said

New Find Shows Modern Humans in Africa 160k YrsAgoThe article says the discoverers think the find in Ethiopia supports the "Out of Africa" hypothesis, and that the bones are similar enough to modern huimans to be classified as Homo sapiens but a different (ancestral) subspecies Homo sapiens idaltu - idaltu meaning "elder" in the local tribal language.
An curious thing about the find is that the sculls were found but without the bodies, or even the jawbones. Other evidence indicates they some of the sculls may have been used in a ritual, or possibly be the victims of cannibalism. -
Re:You want to save money?
In Wilmington, NC you've got the beach. A much better beach than the one in CA [imo]. I've got a great tech job [nuclear reactor simulators, in java, c++, and fortran90] only 25 minutes away. I'd say location location location. And having lived in CA I'd like to be the first to point out that its the land of fruits and nuts. And btw: liberals are harder to get along with than conservatives, and Wilmington NC isn't that religious if you don't count the stupid 10 commandments being posted in our classrooms. timelines
Here is one time line. This one is written and not a visual time line. This is also interesting. The only problem is that their is is a gap from 1975-90. This is the my favorite site This site starts in 1980 but it is very indepth about DOS, widows, and Microft itself! This is a nice time line also. It covers 1975-2000.
