    I've always enjoyed World of Padman. It is a cartoon-styled world of paint ball fights based on the Quake III Arena engine.

    Check out Tremulous

    Or World Of Padman, also (as far as I know) a derivative work from Quake3 sources, like Tremulous. (World Of Padman)

    My favourite: World of Padman (WoP)
    A fast-paced FPS with Liliput-style maps and funny weapons. Also only mildly violent, compared to other FPS.

    World of Padman all the way. It uses the Quake-3 engine. Great fun in a comical sort of way.

    Wesnoth is a good one.

    Might also look into Teeworlds, World of Padman TORCS, Neverball and OpenArena.

    They say that all of the stuff will be GPL. SVN repositoryies seem to work on Sourceforge. Originally based on Quake III: Arena as a mod. Changed to full game. Only Multiplayer right now, but has a decent engine.

    Especially in germany - where there is an age restriction on the Quake3 game and you cannot easily buy it. For instance, the Quake3 mod Padmod which can be found here http://www.worldofpadman.com/ has astonishing artwork while at the same time being without blood and from the concept suited for children (it's still fun for adults though). Unfortunately, the MOD does not have many gamers right now - one reason for this is certainly the ban on quake3 itself. With a seperate build one can now circumvent this ban which will hopefully bring new users to mod projects like these.
