Re:First game is here
You do realize Virtua Fighter 5 is being released on the XBox 360 as well though right? So I don't really see this as reason to buy it on the PS3 for $100 - $200 more than it would run you on the Xbox 360. And if the past is anything to go by, the 360 version will have nice online play and voice chat...does it on the PS3?

Playstation 3 won't win...
Unless it has a game where you can make little school girls dance to your music!
Haha Sony, say your prayer!

The demo was very good.
I really liked the demo: It gave me a very good impression of the game (both single player, as multiplayer), and immedeately bought the game.
The innovative gravity-shifting is great, and the other extra options make a great base for some fun mods/maps.
Also funny to note is that the main weapon in Valve's Portal, has been recreated in Prey; Still a few bugs, but the basic idea (shooting an entrance-portal, then shooting the exit-portal) seems to be working.
Also, last night I found out that Portal has been based on Narbacular Drop (afaik the Digipen students got either hired, or at least compensated for their initial idea), which you can download from here.
Ok, back on topic: I've bought Prey, and am very happy with it; This has partly to do that I create maps myself, and there are alot of options that these new gamemechanics bring.
The single player (think I am halfway through at the moment) is great, and gives me enough diversion to not bore me: The multiplayer is also quite good, definitely considering I never quite liked DM other than Quake 1; But the wall-walking definitely adds some groovy... sometimes nausiating... new gameplay.
Only lacking thing, as always with single player shooters, is the AI; Which isn't too complicated, and has some flaws where enemies don't quite react the right way, or are stuck in their loop of walking from one spot to the other. -
Re:Betrayal
It's possible you are just being your normal funny self, but there actually is a sequel to DOAXBV coming to X360. It will apparently also have at least one more sport in it, so the title won't have "volleyball" in it. You can see the (probably temporary) cover for the game in the bottom right of this Japanese ad.

Re:Blaming IBM's capabilities misses the point
and even so, some developers are 'upset' at the performance they're going to get from ibm's ppc chips for the next gen consoles.. so maybe just maybe the problem is with the vendor...
I think until these anonymous developers come forward and make themselves known it is hard to buy into their arguments. Project Gotham Racing 3 in 720p certainly looks far more impressive than games on today's PC hardware. So do games like Gears of War, DOA4, and Kameo - it all throws a lot of these complaints into question. Isn't it possible that those complaining developers just might not be good enough to deal with the extra complexity? Maybe they just haven't got a handle on it yet? -
Re:I am disappointed with this list...
Chrome Hounds is a mech game by From Software and published by Sega.

Looks kind of cool from the limited bit of info available. -
Re:So why isnt there a movie?
Probably since the PGR series doesn't really let you hit buildings, so it wouldn't be remotely easy for Bizarre to show that. But nothing I've seen so far looks too different from the earliest video they released (running at merely 25% of full power, too). Bizarre's track record for honesty should also stand for something - if they show off the game's looks, that's what it is going to look like at a minimum. That's always been the case.
And as impressive as these textures are, what Bizarre is doing with the graphics isn't as difficult as it may seem. If you look at the wireframes of the buildings you can see it isn't done through some insane amount of polygons or anything unbelievable like that. It's just really good source material (ie high rez textures from photographs) combined with a really nice implementation of technology like normal mapping (seen in Doom3, HL2, Phantom Dust, etc.). Aesthetically it looks amazing, but this isn't some amazing visual leap beyond current day technology.
