a real EPCOT by the Bay:
Also modular construction, although I expect this is nowhere what Google has in mind.

Re:Credits on image
That's only because it is a picture of the House of the Future that used to be in Disneyland. Take a look at Yesterland.com and find what will essentially be the same pic.

The Original
Nothing can beat the original, all plastic(!), Monsanto-sponsored House of the Future. Has Disney ever made anything as cool as that?

Monsanto House of the Future
The Monsanto House of the Future from once upon a time at Disneyland is the place I've always wanted to live -- even if not at Disneyland itself. To this day I still think about trying to get someone to recreate the showers with all the water jets in the walls.

captain these glasses are skipping
first 3D experience was at Disneyland watching Michael Jackson talk to a flying gismo in Captain EO.
these are the types of things 3D glasses lend themselves too.... -
Re:Disney strikes again
The one at Disneyland closed, but the one at Disneyworld in Orlando was renamed the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority. Some info can be found here: (http://www.yesterland.com/peoplemover.html) The TTA is actually very cool. We rode it a couple of times in October.

Sounds familiar
Of course, you could also jump into your time machine and visit the house of the future at Disneyland, circa 1957.
It was made so well that the wrecking ball just bounced off of it when they tried to demolish it. They had to bring in a crew with saws. -
Make it a ride?
Sell it to Disneyworld. They can attach a ride to it or something like the spaceship "ride" they used to have at Disneyland...
Except they'd have to come up with a ride that's actually better idea than Rocket to the Moon or the slightly revamped Mission to Mars. Otherwise, they'll be getting rid of it pretty quick for lack of interest... -

Re:Ride Chairs are now in the Haunted House!
I actually think Anonymous Coward must have been refering to the omnimover cars from Journey Thru Inner Space (JTIS). This, however is not possible as the Haunted Mansion opened at the Disneyland Resort (DLR) on August 9, 1969 and JTIS closed in 1986 to be replaced by Star Tours (Click for more info on JTIS). The Omnimover system has been used by many rides throughout the Disney Empire, including the Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (WDW and soon at DLR), Joyrney Into Your Imagination (EPCOT), Spaceship Earth (EPCOT), the old World of Motion (EPCOT), the old Horizons (EPCOT), and JTIS (DLR). All had verious changes in style and design, but all followed the omnimover system of a chain of vehicles moving in a circuit. Hope my comments have helped.

Two great sites for Disney Weenies
I am one of the biggest Disney weenies in the world. I've had an AP since I was 15, and I long for a return to the old days of Disneyland. I would love to see a full-on 3D recreation of Disneyland in various eras, that could be "walked thru."
Two sites that I frequent are Yesterland.com, which features pictures, descriptions and memories of the almost every "retired" Disneyland attraction, and MiceAge.com, which features backstage "exposes" about Disneyland and the people who run it. -
Plastic!Seriously, what about plastic? Remember the Monsanto House of the Future? Supposedly, it was very difficult to tear this house down.
(Yes, I know Homer Simpson saw this house at "ELCOT", but it was actually at Disneyland.)

Yesterday's Tomorrows in WDWThere really is an attraction like that in Walt Disney World, called the "Carousel of Progress", but perhaps not for long. Originally it was built for the 1964 World's Fair, dubbed Progressland, and presented a four-act show composed of different era. Check out the link above for more info on "Carousel of Progress".
(Sadly, this attraction is closed most of the time; it's only reopened during the busy summer season.)

Disneyland, Take Notes!Has anyone noticed that "Tomorrowland" in Disneyland is starting to looking like, well, yesterday? Many of the attractions are either outdated (Astro Orbitor), closed down (RocketRods), or just altogether too plain (Innoventions). Space Mountain is great for thrill seekers and my personal favorite, but wasn't Tommorrowland supposed to show off the crazy inventions of the future?
Yesterland is a good place to see all the old, semi-forgotten attractions that seemed ahead of its time. Anyone remember those hovercraft bumper cars?.
Plus, Disney's got plenty of room to play around with right now. The old CircleVision attraction, the building right across from Star Tours, has been closed for a while and just sits there, probably only being used for storage. And whatever happened to those submarines in the lake?
Disney, take heed! Don't just devote an attraction to the newest technologies. The industry moves too fast these days to keep up. Instead, why not show mock-ups of these sorts of retro-tractions? I can think of a ton of cool interactive exhibits they could produce (think Jetsons), even with their cost-cutting mantra of recent. Now if only they'd bring back those RocketRods!

Re:"E" ticket...
Those who remember Disneyland from way back in the "E" ticket days, or just want to read some stuff from nostalgaic old farts, should check out Yesterland
