Re:And your bad genetics cost ME...Now, the QUALITY of my tacos is better, but that's not the same question.
My question addressed both price and nutrition. Poor quality foods can easily be masked with enough sodium and fat to make it taste delicious. I really hope that you are not eating all 10 of those tacos from Taco Bell by yourself. The nutrition calculator I linked to will show you just how much fat and sodium can come with that meal( hint, sodium is in the thousands of milligrams).
I would be surprised if the likes of Taco Bell and McDonald's were losing any money on the poor quality food they sell. You are right at least about the drinks, soda sales are like free money to them. -
Re:Dictionary definition appears to be wrong
And you, in turn, show yours
;-) KFC is currently owned by YUM brands, which was spun off from Pepsi in 1997. (NYSE:YUM, http://www.yum.com/about/default.asp) -
You Point?
KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell are all just brands owned by Yum Brands.
I've always found them to make bad chicken, pizza and tacos, as well as deliver bad service and slow drivethrus. I don't see how any of that changed with their acquisitions by Yum. -
Re:Actually..
"If you remember your history from the film Demolition Man you would know that it would be a Taco Bell Battlecruiser in the future."
You don't realize how close Doritos and Taco Bell really are. Taco Bell was part of the Tricon Food Group which recently renamed themselves to Yum!. Yum!, "spun off," from PepsiCo in the late 90's. I think at the time of the seperation, Tricon consisted of only three chains, Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut. It's up to six or so now.
Meanwhile, everyone knows Doritos just happens to be owned by PepsiCo

Undisputed?
They're not undisputed in the fast food sector, they are definitely the leader in the burger biz though. Yum! Brands, Inc. has about 33,000 restaurants and is growing quickly. McDonald's doesn't have anywhere to grow significantly, while Yum! and its five brands do.

The millions of fast food restaurants owned by PepsiCo
I thought PepsiCo had spun its restaurants into Tricon Global Restaurants, which became Yum! Brands.

Re:Coke dealers?
McDonald's isn't the only fast food chain that deals Coke. Try Burger King, Wendy's, and pretty much everywhere else except Yum! Brands restaurants.

And in other news...
NEW YORK (AP) - The market winked it's eye today at Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) as shares of the fast-food conglomerate shot up 1.68% today upon a report directly linking a reduction of colon cancer in their loyal consumer base with the food served at the variety of restaraunts under their corporate umbrella, including Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC. Further boosting the stock this Monday, the company reported earnings that were on target with previous estimates, and a strong indication Goldman Sachs plans on raising the stocks rating from from a "Buy" to a "Strong Buy."
