Similar Study Conducted in London: Results LinkedThere was a similar study conducted in London which made the news a while back. The data and report are here. This study tracked about 1500 people in the central business district.

Balance of sexes using bluetooth
There is a report here detailing the gender mix of bluetooth users and which devices they are carrying around with them. The survey was taken in central London using a passive collector but I'd assume the ratios are the same the world over. N.

Re:About timeTo get an idea of exactly how much market power Telstra has in Oz, even in 'new' (non voice and private data) markets just take a look at this report. The pie chart at the top of page 2 shows the company with >25% market share for Dedicated Internet Access, and most of the new challenging alternative carriers having only a few percent of the customers. Singtel itself is a PTT.... so much for de-regulation!
