You can help prove Riemann's hypothesis
While you are reading this book, put your computer to work helping to prove the hypothesis in the Zetagrid project (see my short summary of the project here). If your computer can run Java applications, it can run the small ZetaGrid client. In the 3.3 years the project has run, participants have discovered almost 1 trillion "nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function."

zetagrid programThank goodness the whacko is issuing an apology, the Zetagrid program would have been completely pointless.
But I suspect that brute-forcing the function isnt really going to work, but it is useful for calculating primes i think...

Re:There's an executable...
I'm having that problem too! I found the library at this site. I unpacked it, and put it in the directory with the worm draw executable, but it still can't find it. I am (as you may have guessed) a clueless newbie on Linux. I set execute priviledges on the library and the executable.

zetagrid projectI've been donating spare CPU cycles for the last couple weeks to the ZetaGrid project. Currently, it is analyzing the Riemann Hypothesis. The data collected may be used in a statistical proof by Sebastian Wedeniwski. Better use of cycles than SETI if you ask me!

You can help
In case you're tired of looking for UFOs with SETI, you can use your spare CPU cycles to help prove/disprove this hypothesis here.

Re:Is this a German thing?
IBM could very well have their HQ for PPC development in Germany, because that's where the IBM lab that's sponsoring the Zetagrid project is.
