if you're cruising on the highway and come across a traffic snarl, the Sube will not slow down in time, as it doesn't look far enough ahead. (Of course, i haven't quite tested this fully, just a fair amount of driving - even in city traffic it doesn't seem like it would slow down fast enough when you come across stopped traffic).

Cable TV was once Disney bread and butter everyone had to subscribe to cable TV higher tier server to get Disney or pay a sub like they do for HBO. Since people are leaving cable and went to Netflix well looks like disney,dc,and yes marvel is making their own too now add those to your internet bill and hmm starting to look alot like the cable TV bill isn't it. lol we ....will...never ...win
Dare Devil was canceled,Luke cage was canceled.Iron Fist was canceled by NF because Disney pulling their content cant really blame them but now i don't have a reason to subscribe to NF except for maybe a month a yr. YT is no comp to Netflix, the content is very different nuff said about that.

  4. Adobe support was demanding I give them a new card for payment and canceled my sub even though the card was still good for 3 months and didn't care that the bank wouldn't send me a new card until the last month the card was good for. kept saying my card was expired every time I talked to them. Be nice if I could just buy the product instead of this stupid subing crap now.

So yeah, a lead of 4 for Ryzen.

I keep seeing this angst about PCIe lanes, but what do you actually need them for?

16x from the CPU, with 2x8 and 1x8 + 2x4 modes for dual or triple SLI is perfectly fine for the vast majority of workloads. (You'll be limited elsewhere before the GPU bus speed matters unless you're doing something very specialised)

Then on the z270 and z370 platforms there's 24 lanes down a shared 4 lane equivalent to the CPU. You may argue you need it for NVMe RAID0, but you probably don't. Flash drives are already effectively RAID0 devices, with few NVMe drives able to saturate a x4 PCIe3.0 link. In many cases buying a larger drive is similar to running two smaller drives in RAID0 already, as they spread the writes amongst more flash chips. eg: 2 x 250GB drives Vs the 500GB version of the drive.

If you really need more PCIe lanes, you probably really want one of the HEDT platforms anyway, because you also need more memory channels.

On the other hand, most contractors are allowed to subcontract.

The key is most. You can contractually prevent a contractor from subing out work; doing so does not mean they are an employee.

In any case, the IRS has provided reasonably clear guidance in the area of limousine service. If the employing company is a pure dispatch company (e.g., it doesn't control how the drivers drive and the driver is not accountable to the company), then drivers can be considered contractors. If however, the employing company is a transport service (e.g., the company provides detailed instructions to its drivers and monitors their daily performance and the driver doesn't maintain business like doing advertising or keeping logs), then the drivers must be considered employees.

That's the crux of the question - is Uber acting as a taxi dispatch company that uses smart phones instead of land lines and radios to match fares with drivers or are they doing more than simply dispatching rides.

I don't think that's an apt analogy. I agree that subing for an OS is idiocy (I thought the same back when my shop still rented HPUX for ungodly sums). But Adobe CS sub was a fantastic way of getting people like me, who want to be honest and pay for the software we need, to be able to do so without resorting to piracy. Even better, after a full year on my CS sub, they gave me a full license to the latest version that I can keep in perpetuity. I don't know if the new Creative Cloud pricing model continues that; probably not because they've dropped version numbers, but all told I am paying much less per year than I would have spent shelling out for the CS Master Collection.

I've noticed the same thing although I've been studying japanese for a little over 2 years and can read text that is much smaller than I used to be able to. The reason is, in the context of a sentence, you don't need to see every individual stroke in order to know what the word is. You just need to recognize the basic shape. It's kind of like looking at the shape of the forest instead of the individual trees.

I'm near sighted, 20/50 or something, but I rarely wear glasses unless I know I'm going to be reading stuff far away. I can almost never read text on a TV sitting 8 feet away from me, ie for video games or if I'm watching something with subtitles. I can however make out equivalently sized japanese text even though all the characters appear "blurry" to me. It's funny cause I stream music videos subed with japanese, ramaji, and english and the only part of the subs I can make out is the japanese. Sometimes the japanese text is *smaller* the the romaji and english. I've even muted the TV to see if this was some kind of confirmation bias but it's definitely something I've noticed in several different contexts and cant be a fluke. I've studied a little bit of korean and think korean might also have this tendency, except you can probably make out korean close up at a smaller font than Japanese. The best of both words maybe?
