Playstation 2 Outsells both Xbox and Gamecube

Laurens writes "Despite various claims of both Microsoft and Nintendo, this article by the Los Angeles Times has the first independant salesfigures on all 3 next-gen consoles. And it seems the good ol' PS2 sold best this holiday season." I'm an hour into FFX and don't foresee turning my PS2 off much this week. Can't talk now. Must see Lord of the Rings, and then play more FFX. Is this a great time to be alive, or what?

    Care for yourself, you are alive.. enjoy your life. But if you want to be frustratd all your life for few victims you never knew... go ahead. Close yourself in a room and moan. If you are such emotionally unstable person, you are totally useless in anything and the only thing you need is a shrink.

    And Microsoft, well, whatever, they'll probably just release the next version of office only for xbox so all their corporate customers have to buy them, so they're ensured of success.

    I know this was meant as a joke, but I'll comment anyway:

    Microsoft absolutely has to make sure that retail Windows and any WinPC programs do NOT run on XBox. Not (only) because they are losing money on the XBox, but more importantly, they would piss off PC-makers if they would start to become a competitor.

    Remember OS/2?

    Although the myths and sayings tell otherwise, the MAIN REASON for OS/2 failing was that PC-makers did not like the idea of being dependent on a direct competitor (IBM).
