It's The End Of The Be As We Know It
JRAC writes "Be Inc. has replaced their web site's entire contents with information on the sale of Be to Palm.
Stock holders can find all relevant info on the Stock Information page.
BeOS 5 Personal Edition is no longer available from the site. Looks like it's time to hit the mirrors. Try ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/beos for files.
" The official sale was approved just over a month ago.
I rubbed my knee into my girlfriend's vagina, and almost made her have an orgasm on the train ride back home. She was so hot and horny and wet, I'm glad I could make her happy .
How DARE, how DARE you go through other people's images directories to try to steal copyrighted materials. Are you crazy? Are you one of those homeless people who waits all morning for the library to open so that you may use public internet terminals. Geez, a pentium 133 doesn't cost that much.
Does anyone here like Pampers 6? Pacifiers? Baby bottles?
Actually, there's been recent evidence found that there was some hybridisation among northern european early homo sapiens and the neanderthal populations (in particular, an immature hybrid skeleton was found) - this suggests a possible orign for the white skin, red/blond hair, beards, heavy stature and larger bones of northern europeans, as well as for the wierd infertility problems between asians and northern europeans.
What happens when the moderators are more inept than the posts they are moderating? If a moderator moderates in the forest is it the same sound as one hand stroking?
Thank you Slashdot, I tribute my new trollness to you.
Oh well. Poop happens.

There is an option to turn on window memory compression. It was left disabled in the release because of concern that it may be the cause of a kernel panic (which was later traced to another cause) but could be enabled manually and should be enabled by default in the next release. Some (limited) info:

I can't remember which site I was on that had the good discussion.
XP isn't particularly stable compared to whatever UNIX flavor you want to name, but it's a hell of a lot better than any of the older Windows versions. It's also a much faster interface than KDE or Gnome, and more intuitive.
Jesus fucking christ, thats all you could come up with? Real creative! That title sounds like shit, like it was made up by a two year old. How about "Be To Stop Pollinating"
"My culinarily refined friend: you either eat this steaming pile of shit or I'm going to FedEx shit in your name to the head of your company." is about analogous to your sig.
Jeez', you have such a small mind. If you knew how much pain was inflicted on animals during the course of their relatively long, tortured lives...But animals are less important than people, so I'll say instead: did you know, the first person executed by electrocution took six minutes to die. Does this unsettle you? More than, say, lethal injection would have in this case? Would you, I don't know, not support whatever political party was most responsible for this type of thing routinely happening back when it did? Animals don't feel pain differently from people do, and a person we would kill anyway still has a right not to be tortured, for no other reason than the fact that the torture is bad. It is my assertion that if you did any amount of research into today's animal industry, you would see things quite analogous to a man's dying from electrocution over the course of six minutes, and this routinely and institutionally, so that you can be quite sure that when you eat a given part of an animal's carcass, it is the fruit of a process that put a feeling being into an amount of pain that we cringe to even consider. If you still support that, bearing in mind that pain isn't different in animals than in humans (or at least probably isn't: after all, they behave the same, just as you behave similarly to someone with half your IQ when each of you is in turn physically tortured), then at least I hope you are willing to face this choice of yours.
I am deeply atheistic, by the way, and I don't think the world is any more than the sum of its atoms. I can't refer to any objective laws for why it's 'wrong' to do something, since even something as inherently 'bad' as an innocent person's being put in pain for no reason is, in the end, nothing more than a certain configuration of neurons firing in a certain pattern which is the result of a certain interaction with their environment. So I'm not going to say you're a 'bad' person. I just think you should be aware of the implications of the stances you take.
Instead of considering Apple a closed-source evil,
Fuck you
and
Fuck Apple!
You Stoopid!
Yet another crippling bombshell hit the beleaguered BeOS community when last month Slashdot confirmed that BeOS accounts for less than a fraction of 1 percent of all servers. Coming on the heels of the latest Netcraft survey which plainly states that BeOS has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. BeOS is collapsing in complete disarray, as further exemplified by failing dead last in the recent Sys Admin comprehensive networking test.
You don't need to be a Kreskin to predict BeOS's future. The hand writing is on the wall: BeOS faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for BeOS because BeOS is dying. Things are looking very bad for BeOS. As many of us are already aware, BeOS continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood. BeOS is the most endangered of them all.
Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers.
BeOS leader Jean Louis-Gassee states that there are 7000 users of OpenBeOS. How many users of NetBeOS are there? Let's see. The number of OpenBeOS versus NetBeOS posts on Usenet is roughly in ratio of 5 to 1. Therefore there are about 7000/5 = 1400 NetBeOS users. BeOS/OS posts on Usenet are about half of the volume of NetBeOS posts. Therefore there are about 700 users of BeOS/OS. A recent article put FreeBeOS at about 80 percent of the BeOS market. Therefore there are (7000+1400+700)*4 = 36400 FreeBeOS users. This is consistent with the number of FreeBeOS Usenet posts.
Due to the troubles of BeOS Personal Edition, abysmal sales and so on, Be Computing, Inc. went out of business and was taken over by Palm, Inc. who sell another troubled OS. Now Palm, Inc. is also dead, its corpse turned over to another charnel house.
All major surveys show that BeOS has steadily declined in market share. BeOS is very sick and its long term survival prospects are very dim. If BeOS is to survive at all it will be among OS hobbyist dabblers. BeOS continues to decay. Nothing short of a miracle could save it at this point in time. For all practical purposes, BeOS is dead.
Fact: BeOS is dead.
Interesting, huh. How old are today's moderators?
Hmmmm. Have you tried E-bay?
Where's my dodgy three-way dildo?
