Spielberg Denied Crack at Star Wars
loonix_gangsta writes "The BBC is running a blurb on the disclosure of Star Wars helmsman George Lucas not allowing Spielberg to direct one of the Star Wars movies. According to Ananova Steven had actually begged George for the job."
There's an interesting article currently carried by the NYTimes (free reg. yada yada) that talks about the world of dieting, National Institutes of Health, Atkins as well as low-carb vs low-fat. The interesting thing, from a scientific perspective, is the sheer lack of study - and the reticence from the scientific community to question the party line.
I was denied crack at the Stones concert, you don't see me whining.
Was he also denied in directing the next Dis-ney epic cartoon with the standard singing poor girl becomes princess and finds prince of her dreams type of shite?

The WWE has tried boosting ratings with signings of bigger name talent, and shocking storyline moves, all to no avail. Only now they've alienated both the smarts and the live / casual fans.
There are smart fake wrestling fans? Surely that can't be.
autopr0n is like, down and stuff.
Huh?
LOTR was great, but Peter Jackson isn't the magic director that will make any movie great. And how anyyone, blinding enthusiasm for LOTR not withstanding, is going to ludicrously maintain that WETA is better than ILM is something I'll never comprehend.
American Graffiti was really good though. Not good enough to make up for episodes one and two, but it was a darned good movie.
Yeah, this is totally off-topic and schtuff.
