Abiword's PayPal Donation Fund Robbed

I do however, recommend doing several things:
1) Writing to Paypal, in letter, email, or fax form alerting them to

2) Calling Paypal on AbiWord's behalf.
3) Writing or calling your Congressman/woman, pointing out that Paypal
is acting like a bank, but not operating under formal banking laws.
4) Boycotting Paypal because of these reasons, and the fact that their

So, stuff the money. I mean, its all about the lambda-expressions, right? You only just urged your readers to pay for software, though you call it a donation. Computation is computation, and anything less than that is the talk of pussy hackers. I mean fuck. Are there any real programmers left?
My cell phone was stolen from my truck, which I left unlocked, it isn't my truck's fault is it? Money was stolen from your PayPal account... how did they get your password? There is a lot of bitching that PayPal is insecure/at fault, explain how this is PayPal's fault and not the person(s) responsible for the money? I will say what everyone else is dancing around... the thief might be close to home.
Screw Paypal indeed. They just recently started requiring all High-Risk merchants to pay upwards of $1500 to continue processing credit cards with Visa and Mastercard, when they have been free in the past. They are going to lose a ton of clients (including me) because of this change. They say this change was instituted directly by Visa and Mastercard, but it still stinks.
They are putting alot of small business out of business.

actually i'd say it's more likly paypal is holding their money and have accused them of coming a crime. paypal are notorious for doing this.

Being hard to contact in itself isn't fradulent. However, it is fraud when they are avoiding customers who have legitamate claims against them, wether they know it or not. In this case, it is fraud. Period.
Any company who is accepting money from anybody and ignores those same people when they attempt to contact them for a complaint against the service or product is fraudulent. therefore, PayPal may be fradulent. This is evidence that can be presented in court against PayPal and it would stand up as well. (Unless there is a contract that was signed stating otherwise)

This isn't exactly the biggest scam in the universe, a drop in the bucket in-terms of the amount of money swindled in other Ebay or PayPal related transactions. (if you can even call it a transaction).

Government regulation is not the answer.
People with higher security needs will user different products, those with modest needs (passing $50 around to pay for an auction) will
keep using paypal.
Wake up! There is only ONE person who can (and should!) look out for you - that person is yourself!
Point Two - Some of you people always amaze me with how quick they want the government to step in! This will ALWAYS lead to trouble in the end.
