Xbox Live Goes Online
abhikhurana writes "
Internetnews is reporting that Microsoft has launched Xbox Live
broadband gaming service. To access Microsoft's service, Xbox gamers
have to buy a $49.99 starter kit, which includes 12 month's worth of
access to the Xbox Live service and a headset kit for voice
communications. Microsoft said that about 16 games with online play
capabilities will be available by the end of the year.
So has anyone already tried it? If so, what do you think about it?"
Wait till a bug is found, i'll be cooking hamburgers in your toaster.

Not really funny. First off who would buy an Xbox for the sole reason of installing some half-backwards OS like Linux? Personally if I chucked out a couple 100 $ I'd want to "play" with it.

Someday, I'll have a real sig.
Unapproved software? let me get this straight, people buy a hideously expensive though souped-up PC in a horrid black box which the MS marketing department calls an "Xbox" and people can't even decide what to put on their own PC/Xbox? Anyone got a slight idea that this is specifically aimed at those people who put Linux on their very own Xbox?
Hate me!
Which clue would that be? How l33t it is to h4x0r a b0x0r and put linux on it?
Here's a tip. Just because you can put linux on it doesn't make it cool. More often than not these "toys" have fairly complicated processors that are well suited for it. Putting Linux on an original Gameboy, now thats a feat.
Eitherway, if I chucked out the money for a console I wouldn't risk breaking it so I can tell my l33t h4x0r storiez to my possy.

And that doesn't even include the MONTHLY fee's to play games like Phantasy Star online, or any other large RPGs that will be charging a monthly fee! Talk about a great way to lose money and kill your console!
You sir are hilarious.. Just play these on your home PC instead of your slow Celeron PC called the XBox.. Next year the service is going to cost $13/month... Have fun.. PC games are free unless yer playing RPGs.
