GTA: Vice City Sells 8.5 Million Copies in 3 Months
Gus writes "Take Two Interactive Software reports that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has sold more than 8.5 million copies in the first three months since its late-October launch. The good news is Rockstar Games has 11 titles in the works. The bad news is the chances of the next GTA making it out this year are pretty slim." Also, there's still a couple people waiting on Duke Nukem Forever, and their patience is wearing thin.

I heard on CNN's Daybreak this morning (yeah that's early, and im in PST too) that Mr Rogers died of stomach cancer early this morning. Apparently he had been battling it for the past 2 months or so.
At least he went in his sleep.
Mr Rogers, you'll always be my neighbor!
Grand Theft Auto & Mr. Rogers in the same thread. How weird is that? One advocating "show love & kindness to your neighbor" ...the other recommends a nice 12 ga. shotgun...
You know, you should probably file a patent on the non troll troll now.
What I find interesting in all the obits I've read is that none of them really talk about what a controversial figure he sometimes was. He was "Mr. Nice Guy," and he truely was in many ways, but sometimes being Mr. Nice Guy brought him public criticism for it, sometimes perhaps justified.
An interesting man though, and yes, truly an American Icon.

damnit, i will keep on posting this until the moderators get it right! it is *not* off topic
Yes, we all know many on-line and off-line stores have been setting release dates for Duke Nukem Forever, but from corporate HQ of one of the most (if not the biggest) well known game-related sellers for console & PC have a release date set for June 2003. Interestingly enough, any posts made on the 3drealms forums which mentioned this release date WERE NOT deleted, like the others have been, but MOVED to other forum areas unrelated to Duke Nukem Forever. This is very interesting to note if you've participated on 3drealms' forums for as many years as I have.
I'm betting on June 2003. I'm sure the game is done or nearly done, and they're working on a massive ad campaign to promote it. If it's not done this year, however, I never want to hear about it again. Ever.
This year is the deciding factor, IMO whether Duke Nukem Forever lives to see its well deserved release, or reveals itself as a project of never-ending engine switches and excuses.
